I bought for a Polaris sportsman 400cc 2stroke. Wired the 3 yellows to stator any orientation. And the red and black to lithium ion battery. The battery thought takes allot of power to charge initially, this regulator is able to handle the load nicely, much nicer than the potted in plastic version available to the early 93-97 Polaris sportsman. Thanks for a great product. Keeps power consistent and even with everything on it stay relatively cool. The wire seperat from a plug I ended up not using without any adverse effect so far
