Looks great and priced reasonably! Good for flattening stones and create a new new edge. The plates are removable for washing/cleaning. However, the magnets that hold them are not not glued. Otherwise, it’s easy to maintain. It’s marked “DMD Tools”

Flattening ceramic waterstones is what I got this for. I also plan to use it on regular waterstones. Works well so far.

The block isn’t flat it is just thin metal with a plastic core. Also I used it once and the grit either got gummed up and won’t clear or the grit wore off already.

Update: I was wrong about this product, but it doesn't change the rating much. Original review is not modified and included at the bottom.Plates are not aluminum but steel, and they are removable from the plastic base, which does not have a false weight as I mistakenly thought. While having removable plates is a positive, the plastic base still flexes too much to be used for stone leveling, and there is no way to secure this product from slipping. Additionally, since water gets under the plates, not only do they have to be removed for cleaning of both the plates and the base, plates themselves immediately begin to rust. While I do not know how long these diamond plates will last under use, this product is not well suited for stone leveling, it's more suited for grinding of rough tools.Original Review:This is not a stone, it's two aluminum diamond plates attached to a bendable plastic base that has a false weight inside. While this double sided diamond plate will be fine for re-profiling crude instruments, like an axe or garden tools, it is not acceptable for flatting sharpening stones or for precision grinding of bench tools.

The night I received my package, I managed to reface both sides of my whetstone, get deeper into the refacing of my chisels and I m also thinking about taking a go at my axe with it. This tool gave the whetstone a flat, smooth profile. The two grits, 120 and 180, made short work on the stone.I took it to my chisels next. The speed that it managed to take the bevel down to almost done was nice. Had to quit, sundown and dinner made me do it, but reattached the chisels next day with gusto. I was not disappointed in the results. A chisel I have set aside to use on paint/resin spots on my garage floor will be refaced quickly and returned to wood cutting service again.I would buy this again and again.

It’s cheap and feels a bit cheap when you get it but it works. I have flattened 3 stones with good results so far. During the first stone one of the plates told some damage and lost a bit of diamond stone, still works fine. For $20 and for what it is being used for it’s great just not sure how long it will last.

This diamond plate from SCOTTCHEN made quick work flattening my Naniwa Pro 800 grit stone. I like the two git levels and the magnetic construction allows the plates to be removed from the plastic carcass to be dried before storage. Overall, this product works for me and I would recommend it.

Hefty 10" diamond plates stuck to a plastic form with magnets. The first time I took the plates off the form all 6 magnets came out attached to the back of one of the plates. A drop of super glue and replaced the magnets. Easy fix...I put these plates on a stone holder and flattened every stone I had. Lots of water and back and forth with a rotation of the stones every 10 passes. The plates flatten ceramic, silicone carbide, and natural stones (Japanese, Chinese, Arkansas and Vermont slate).Ran the stones over 120, and then 180... All stones were flat using straight edges. No light between straight edge and stone. I used other finer diamond plates ( much more expensive) to finish finer grit stones. These plates worked really well for rough flattening! And for 20 bucks, I'm not afraid to be rough with them. I rejuvenated several old oil stones with noticable dishing to flat and ready to work again. It would have cost me hundreds to replace my old dished stones...Cleanup was simple. You can use a small screwdriver, tip of a knife, or anything to get into the slots to pop off the plates from the form. Wipe any excess water off the plates and form and let dry before reassembling.I'm very happy with these plates. They do show some wear after I flattened 10 stones on both sides, but I honestly abused them pretty hard with those old oil stones. And they still have plenty of grit left and I'll use them for years to come.So if you have beat up old sharpening stones, these plates will bring them back to perfectly flat working condition again with a little elbow grease and water. Well worth 20 bucksUpdate:I really abused these plates... I flattened water stones super easy and the first couple oil stones I flattened had been soaked in degreaser for a couple days before I flattened them.......I started flattening oil stones without degreasing........They worked fine for a minute then clogged up with grease and oil... Black streaks throughout and just caked on there... Absolute mess!I sprayed a little WD and scrubbed them with Scotch Brite and the greasy build up came right off. I dried them and then scrubbed them with a little alcohol and they are clean and ready to work again. I'm pretty impressed with these diamond plates
