I purchased this product to attach to the base of my DJI Phantom 3 for fishing. As we all do, I tested it prior to bringing it out to the shore. I attacked the monofilament line with only about a 6oz Angler Surf Sinkers (ones with the wire legs). I clipped the line into this product and away the drone went. I flew out to about 30 yards (for testing purposes) and line was still in the clip as it should be. I got where I wanted it, set the drag on my pole. I continued to pull the line away from the pole to get the clip to release. The clip would not release. I pulled to the point that my drone dang near dropped to the ground from about 15 feet in the air. I was able to save the drone, but at no point did the clip release. I tried setting the line closer to the tip of the clip so it wouldn't have such a aggresive grip on the line; of course that didn't work because soon as the drone went about 2 foot from me with the line fell from the clip and the drag was not set, it was on free spool. I played with the clip for a while and I could not find a happy medium. It was either falling out easily or not at all.Maybe your experience will be different, but that was my results.

Used a 1 1/4 inch key ring to attach to planer board works great

My husband bought this so we can fly our fishing line out to sea with the drone. This thing works GREAT. The only downfall? It works too great. It literally "power grips" the line, so if we clip the line in the wrong area, we can't release the fishing line... Then it's a headache and a hope and a prayer to get the drone back in one piece!

Holds line in rough waters, and when you accidently hit the throttle while trolling. Easy to attach, a child age 10 should be able to use with no issues.

Cheap shower rings. Popped off in 1 foot swell on a calm day and lost it. Had it on a planar board line in the Chesapeake. Save yourself some money and aggravation and buy small d-rings and rubber bands. Will not use these again.

These have worked great for me when trolling for stripers. I can attach to my planer lines and run in-line weights with tandem mojo bucktails with no problems.

Dont work so good, more trouble than they are worth. Suggest using a diving board instead.
