Scotty makes the best release. I use braided line. The braid is abrasive to the plastic insert. I replace the insert at least once a season or if I see a worn one catching my lines.

. They are a great product scotty clips in general. the clip nose does need to be replaced after heavy use. I run Marauder Charters in Solomons island, MD and we troll 160 trips a year on average. Use these clips every day 16 rods at one time. They beat all competing brands. Product delivery was early and I felt it was a fair price for such a quick delivery. We needed them for.a tournament and timing was crucial.
