Scotty #479 Rocket Launcher Bottom Pivot Rod Holder is a tube style rod holder that is simple but gets the job done. The Scotty Rocket Launcher Rod Holders come in a variety of options, including the choice of a 9″ stainless steel jacketed composite construction. All Rocket Launchers tilt up and down, including upright for rod storage while traveling. This Rod Holder supports a wide range of rod and reel setups with an inside diameter of 1.70″. The Scotty Rocket Launcher is designed for salmon and other medium to small fish species. This item does not come with a mount, enabling you to choose which mount suits your needs seperately.

Product isn’t like the picture, It is all plastic. With that in mind it’s still another quality product from Scotty Going to use it as a net holder when fishing for larger species

Perfect for my needs as a trolling motor shaft stabilizer when stored position. The head would bounce while running and when trailered driving down the road. I modified it to fit my Minnkota Terrova 50” long shaft and it prevents all shaking and bouncing. Looks like a factory setup!

I have a really narrow boat and for trolling I was looking for another option to stick in my scotty rod holder mounts already in the boat.For leadcore/planerboard fishing, this works surprisingly well! However, with any extension it does flex a little bit more than I'd like. Overall I'd recommend this product if you are in a situation like mine with a more narrow boat.I just wish the scotty extensions were a little tougher. If you don't need the extension to get above the Gunnel, you will have no issues!

Great rod holder for trolling walleyes, I think I own 6-8 of these. There’s nice more expensive aluminum ratcheting options, but you’re gonna pay 5 times as much.I haven’t hooked into any 50 pound cats while drifting with these yet, but I think they’d handle the initial slam ok as long as the drag isn’t tightened down all the way.Scotty has my business for life.

Typical Scotty quality. I've tried a couple of their other rod holder designs, and they are all high quality and functional. This one is the most convenient. There are no locking collars or bands, so it's much easier to use.But, be aware that with freedom comes responsibility. Because there is no locking mechanism, the rod will slide right out if you tip your kayak (my application). Some kind of leash for your rod is highly recommended. If your rod handle is short, this may not be the best model.
