As stated in the title, this gearbox... while very nice looking, required WAY to much extra work to actually work. I'm what you can call one of the OG's of rock crawling. I can usually make anything cheap work like a million bucks.. but this one wasn't savable. I had to break in the internal gears because the mesh was too tight. The gearbox screws needed to be worked in and out very tediously to get it screwed together completely. But once you get that done you realize you can't fully tighten the case together because it will cause the gears to bind up. Without the case together tightly, it doesn't fit in the skid... and the holes don't line up for mounting. Also, the front gear cover rubbed on the front driveshaft and has to be dremmeled.All in all I was forced to assemble it with the stock plastic front case half. We'll see how long my motor lasts with the extra drag due to the tight mesh inside the transmission. And I'll have to order a new stock gearbox for a new front case half. The bottom mounting hole was stripped... hence the ordering of a metal case.Overall I was very disappointed. I spent hours to end up with a noisy sloppy Frankenstein gearbox.
