I love the fact that it’s a anti-slip. I love the fact that it has the geometry on the one side and I love the fact that it has the antique skate on the other side. It made my record player so easy to set up a child could’ve done it.

If you want to align the turntable head and adjust the skating correctly you need this accessory that simplifies these procedures.In addition to this calibration disc, also buy a precision scale and your analog audio setup will be correctly adjusted.Good product, well made.

I’ve owned a record player for about four years, initially an AT-60 and now an AT-120. Over that time, I’ve watched many instructional videos about alignment and tracking and thought I’d set up my tonearm and needle correctly. It sounded good, and I had minimal problems with it.Only, oops, I didn’t. As it turned out, my alignment was fine, but the anti-skate side of this mat made it painfully clear that something in my setup was very off. After some research, I discovered that I hadn’t set up my tracking force correctly after all. While my records sounded good before, I never realized they could sound far better. Figuring this out also had a pleasant side-effect; I had a record that skipped in one spot while I played it that now doesn’t.For such a simple tool, this protractor mat had a much more significant impact on my listening experience than I ever expected.Overall, I’m pleased. It’s well-made, and the printing doesn’t look like it will wear off easily (or at all), but I did have one frustration that I think needs to be improved. For people experienced with using one of these tools, the instructions (printed on the protractor side of the mat) are probably easy to follow or completely unnecessary. For a novice like me, though, they weren’t so clear. Fortunately, online tutorials came to my rescue, but I feel that the company selling this product should’ve included a link for an online video to walk me through use. Additionally, due to the lack of thorough instructions, it wasn’t clear that I only needed to use one of the three alignment options for my record player (and I’m still unsure if I should’ve used the overhang lines somehow).Still, the alignment and anti-skate tools were extremely simple and quick to use once I gathered the missing information from other sources. I recommend everyone get one to assist with proper turntable setup. I wish I had four years ago!

You don't own a turntable for the perfect high fidelity to recorded music. You own it for the nostalgic factor, the analog feel, and the feeling you get from the physical act of putting on a record. Having said that, in order to get the best quality out of your recordings, you go to the greatest lengths to get everything as perfectly aligned and set up as possible.This calibration disk is just one of the many little things you get to reach that perfect listening environment, and at least it's not as expensive as thousand dollar cables or vibration isolators. It's an easy way to adjust your turntable arm/cartridge for alignment to correct angles that will ensure a good play. Normally, you only do this once if you're getting a new turntable (that has not been pre-adjusted) or replacing an existing cartridge.From what I could observe, the disk had the correct scale and measurements, and at under $20 bucks, it's quite a good investment for audiophiles. Calibrating your turntable with this will make life easier for folks like me who get obsessive-compulsive about their music setup, and it's easily recommended.

This alignment tool makes sure the stylus/cartridge is aligned perfectly during playback. The handy markings on the disc let you know if the cartridge needs to be moved and in what direction. Flip the disc over and use the perfectly smooth surface to adjust anti-skate. Anti skate adjustment on turntables is there to make sure the stylus/cartridge doesn't "drift" in one direction or another during play. Just carefully drop the cartridge on the smooth surface and adjust anti skate until the phono arm doesn't move in any direction. It makes sure the stylus is touching the groove of the vinyl equally, providing the best noise free sound.
