The flat cups grip very well when you pull on the handle but slide along the hull with very little effort when you push it sideways. Makes moving around and scrubbing the bottom almost effortless.

It slipped on the side of the boat and was accidentally dropped in the water when it sank like a stone. Were using it to hold onto the side of the boat for waxing the hull. Nope.

This is a great tool for boat owners who like to clean the hull of their boat while in the water. Both my husband and son found it hard to scrub the sides of the boat while floating next to it in the water as they would keep floating away. Now with this handle it makes the task much easier to complete since they now have something to help hold them in place. My one complaint is that it doesn't float. We accidentally lost the first one we bought when it slipped off the back deck of the boat. If it had floated we would have be able to retrieve it.

I rated it as a 3 because it just did not work as well as I thought it should. I used it to hold me against the bottom of a boat with one hand while I wiped all the slime off the boat was in the water with my other hand while wearing scuba gear. I could not have finished the job without this tool but only 1 suction cup would adhere to the hull. I believe that if the cups were a bit more deeper it would have worked much better.

I bought this product in order to exercise in my pool at home. Maybe if you weigh less than ten pounds it will work for you, but the suction cups are totally inadequate to support the weight of even a ten-year-old. It is a total rip-off in my opinion.
