Rope Docking Guide: Bow Line

Bow lines will keep your boat safely in the middle of its slip. If possible, it's always best to apply a bow line on both sides of the boat to double up on docking safety.

The rope was a very nice quality and was packaged well. It was also priced well.

Put the lines on a boat this Spring, and liked using them lines.. soft, supple, good grip on a variety of cleat sizes/styles.Unfortunately, they are also poor wearing.. 3 of the 6 are in need of replacement now, one of those is nearly parted, and it's doubtful I could get a 2nd season out of any of them. Typically we get 2-3 seasons out of quality three strand lines. Admittedly, this is a boat that stays in the water all season and is used daily. For weekend warrior use, these would probably hold up much better. Not a bad deal for the price, but know you're not buying a high end, long lasting product.

These are perfect for my pontoon boat. They allow me to launch and tie up the boat at the dock. I thought they were white but actually they are a little off-white. This didn’t bother me though.

Excellent choice for splicing. This has a. " soft" feel that is easy on the hands without a super tight lay. I chose the 20' length because it was cheap per foot and could easily become a cut 13' bowline and a 7' stern line. 100% nylon is the best. Period.
