I have an old 1996 Regal Bowrider and for some reason the boat didn't have a standard 2 in drain hole. The plate was a perfect replacement, all I had to do was predrill the holes then go to a local hardware store for some stainless-steel screws to mount it. Then the actual plug just threads into the plate, the only thing I would like to see in the future is for them to include screws otherwise GREAT PRODUCT!

I purchased a 2001 Sea Ray in good condition for $500 with the exception. The Boat Wise Universal 1-Way Drain Plug had failed. The ball in the Check Valve stuck and the boat filled completely with rain water, the dash was the only thing that wasn't under water. The owner was asking $1000 but was having no takers. I told the owner with the motor under water best I could do is $500, because who knew what condition the 3.0 Mercruiser. After pumping the water out and bringing it home, bore scoped the motor after draining near two gallons of water and oil out of the motor. Cylinders looked good. Did a leak down test all were below 15%. Wash the motor out with diesel fuel, let I sit for a week, new oil and filter started let it run till op temp. drained the oil. New oil and filter and it running great. If you do not know how to work on boats, and don't want your $6000 boat reduced to a $500 boat I'd be afraid of these Boat Wise Universal 1-Way Drain Plug. What you would expect! Good figment and machine work, use suggested hardware, counter sinks already in part which makes instillation easy and clean. Don’t forget your 5200 on the screws!

Was the closest spaced holes I could find yo match my OEM part on my boat. I think the stated 3 hole spacing on the website is not 100% bc it was a tiny bit off/short. But did work with out drilling new holes. Fixed my leak and is solid feeling.
