A steering knob attaches to the wheel for use in situations where maneuvering is excessive. It allows the driver to turn the steering wheel more quickly to place the vessel in its intended position. Constructed of investment cast stainless steel for corrosion resistance this knob is designed for use with 1" X 3/4" oval tubing.

Got this for my 1974 Whaler, works like a charm! Fit right on the steering wheel using the provided tool, and stays put! it is on the smaller size but that is no bother. I went to West Marine to buy a knob and they were asking over $100! You can't go wrong with this item!!

I like this product fits perfect . It does need lubricant because it squeaks a little but good other than that

Good quality knob...fit around my 1" oval wheel locked it in around spoke nicely but note no ball bearings which I figured by price pt but good value...

Bought this for a 2006 Sea Pro bayboat and it didn't fit the oval steering wheel. I gave it two stars 1 because the knob seemed built decently, and a second because Amazon did such a great job with the return. I purchased the Edson, hopefully it will fit better!

I have a round steering wheel and was aware of the reviews about not fitting. I was hoping to use some large pliers to mold it to my wheel before tighting up the nuts. I was successful and it fit and looks great. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because like other reviews, I also have the problem when turning it. It sounds and feels like a small grinding. I have come to the conclusion that that knocking is the rubbing across the welded nut inside. I hope that after heavy use, the metal on metal will wear itself out and it will become smoother.
