I wish these had threaded hose bosses so I could put whatever connections sized where I want them, not where they made them. With that said, I guess this unit is just the same in that respect as most others and requires certain hose sizes in certain points. It really moves a lot of water. I made several mods to mine including adding a small drain so I could drain it in freezing weather. Im using the built in switch, but have not put it through much use so far, but it works well.

Only compliant is the twoHose inputs are too close together so you can’t hook two lines in next to each other. One suggestion, a small light in there to make it more convenient to see if it’s working, nothing crazy just something to see the water moving would be nice. Other than that very happy thus far. Use it about daily since ordered

*** Update****April 2nd 2022. Pump is still going strong after 18 months of twice daily use. I have read some negative reviews but I have had no such issues.I installed this on my 48 foot boat in the Master head. We live aboard so multiple showers a day. The main brand pumps installed in the shower boxes like sureflow and marine pumps in general have taken a quality hit in recent years. As a shower pump the name brand pumps were failing me often, they used to be made well and could take hair and soap scum. Whatever they did to these pumps they now seem to fail with just a few strands of hair in the impeller. So, I decided to give this box pump a try. I installed in October 2020 and today is July 20 2021 so 9 months now. The pump has had zero issues. The design is superior, as it has a fence type filter guard around the pump. This is much better than the finger lock type filter the others use. It is simple to remove and clean. It has small crevices for the wires to sit in when the lid is snapped shut. I am getting ready to purchase a second unit for the forward shower.

We live an a boat in winter and shower on board. I first bought this unit in 2017 and it gave reasonable service. I did notice the pumps were not long lived, but adding one every year was OK, as the pumps malfunctioned after a year.We came to the boat recently and the shower pump unit was not working. Pumps are down in the bilge and usually not an easy reach. I played with the pump I had used for a year and it seemed to have a short. I ordered the proper replacement from Amazon, a Seaflo 750 mph auto bilge pump.It came as promised, undamaged and I had it installed by a pro. Right out of the box the new pump malfunctioned. I should have gone to West Marine just up the road, but I like dealing with Amazon. I ordered the complete Seaflo Shower Sump system. Big mistake, as I did not read the existing Seaflo reviews which noted the serious problems this unit was causing. The short of it: the new pump would come on and not shut off or not come at all. Junk. They are made in the P.R.C. and of poor quality. Yes, they are inexpensive to buy, but the reviews tell the story. After reviewing other shower sump systems I ordered a Rule, which the reviews noted as working well although it costs almost three times as much. But at $50.00 to install, how many Seaflos do you want to pay to install? This company better get their act together.

The main reason I purchased this was to have the pump itself be on the aft side of the box so that any residual water would move toward the pump when going underway. I could have extended hoses and rotated the existing sump 180 degrees, but replacing the sump box was much easier. This box works great. I did not use the pump that came with it so I can't speak to that, but it has become my spare. The plastic is very hard and rigid so you will need a good fine tooth saw to install. A sharp knife will not work to open up the ports.
