Mirrors work for the purpose they are intended for and for our needs. The mounting hardware is generic and I needed to fashion a different mounting system to accommodate the area needed for coverage,

I received my 36” mirror pretty promptly. When I received my mirror, the packing seemed iffy, as it seemed to be flopping around inside. I was afraid to see the outcome upon opening. Miraculously it was okay, in spite of the metal hardware float loosely in the box.I mounted the mirror to a large tree on a blind spot on a gravel toad we live on. It lasted one whole day. We had a little wind one day and I assume that’s what caused it to crack. This mirror should not be listed as an outdoor product. The back is essentially cardboard, which I did read other reviews on this aspect. I had plan to coat the back of it with weather proofing paint and also caulk around the rim of the mirror. The banding on the circumference seemed flimsy and a potentially prone to have water deep inside.I can’t recommend this product, especially for outdoors.I figured I was out 112$ without much recourse, but Amazons customer service is a amazing. They told me to box it up as best I could and they are sending a ups truck to retrieve it. The guy said after they receive the return, I will be fully refunded! Now I need to find a mirror that will stand up to the outdoors

Like many driveways in our part of Hawaii, there is twisting roads and hills which can limit you view of traffic. We bought this mirror to expand our vision, and it has been a blessing. I have gone from having about 50 feet of clear view of traffic coming downhill, to being able to see almost 300 feet up the hill. It has greatly improved our safety in getting out onto the road.Make sure you get the outdoor unit. They are clearly marked "outdoor" on the backing for the mirror. It is well made. mounts easily, and stays in place once you tighten the adjustment screws. The mounting hardware which comes with it is very basic, as there's no way for them to know what you need. There is a well built, offset mounting arm. I bought a metal fence post and drilled two holes through it to mount the bracket. I buried part of the post into the ground and the upper part was u-bolted to a highway guardrail post. it was a quick install. For the $50 I paid for the mirror, post, and bolts...it was very cheap life insurance.

Attached it to a tree outside so we can see the lane way better. Works great. Through snow rain the mirror is still clear. Sturdy product.

Just installed the mirror today on a telephone pole. Our utility company said I could do it, but not to use screws or anything damaging. I ended up using plumber's tape and zip ties, but it seems like it will hold OK. I would've liked an easier option to mount it to the pole than the default bracket that comes with it, which assumes you're going to use screws. (Oh, the screws didn't come with the mirror, btw.) Due to the way I mounted it, it doesn't angle up as much as I'd like, but it's enough to get the job done.Because other reviews mentioned weather problems, I put clear heavy duty shipping tape around the outer edges and backing of the mirror, to help keep moisture out when it rains. I hope it helps keep the weather from messing with the mirror.Anyway, I stood about where I'd be when a car goes by on the main road (while I'm waiting to turn onto the main road from our alley), and I could see headlights of an oncoming car a good 100-200 ft sooner with the mirror. I call that a success. It seems like a good mirror, but I give it 4 stars due to the difficulty of install and limited install options. (as well as lack of screws or any other hardware for mounting it)I had to buy: plumbers tape, zip ties, and 1/4 inch nuts & bolts for my install. I think most people will just use the screws (a lot easier). They have size charts at a lot of hardware stores, so my advice to make sure you have the right size is to outline the holes well on a sheet of paper and take it in with you.

This little mirror really works. My garage door is facing outwards to the street and from my bedroom window I can only see the side of the garage so if the door is opened I won't know. Everyday I remotely start my truck from inside the house and I have to open the garage door for venting purposes. Sometimes even though I use the garage remote, it doesn't open to vent while the truck is warming up, and I can't tell unless I go outside. I decided to purchase this mirror and try it. I have it installed on the side awning post facing the garage and from a distance of about 15-20 feet I can see clearly in the day the full length of the driveway and the garage door. At night without full lighting only lighting from the street lamps, I can also see if my garage door is open. I very happy now because I don't have to go outside to see if the garage door is open.

My techs are constantly backing vehicles onto frame machines and instead of having a second guy standing their to guide them insuring they don't fall off the machine with the vehicle, we had this mirror installed and now they don't have to worry about dropping a customers vehicle off the machine. It's saved us and them a lot of worry.I'm glad we thought of getting one of these.

I am using this mirror indoors to keep an eye on a new feline family member; I need to be able to see around a blind corner in my open floor plan living room and into the kitchen to see when kitty needs me to remind him to keep out of the sink and off countertops. The mirror is exactly as described, very solid and well constructed - in fact, it looks even better than the advertising photo. It did not come with installation instructions as it says in the description, but it has a sticker on the back with the manufacturer's phone number and customer service was available to answer my question.Important note: This unit requires a star shaped screwdriver to loosen the mounting screws so you'll be able to swivel the mirror into position.Very pleased with this purchase!
