If the wall is uneven during the use of the blackout strips, please use our complimentary fixing nails to help the blackout strips adhere better to the wall.
If there are still light transmission gaps, we also have black adhesive strips included, which can be attached to the light leakage gaps to better help block out the light.

The SEEYE Blackout Light Blockers are a simple and effective way to create a darker room. They are well-made of quality PVC. I like the 57.3” length that accommodates most windows. Some others come is short pieces that you must try to align with each other. With these you simply cut them to length. The peel and stick adhesive makes installation simple. You can use screws if needed, such as on rough surfaces like my cedar trim. These will work with most window coverings so long as the window covering is mounted inside the jams. I have cellular shades and 2” horizontal blinds and they work great on both. They do not work well with outside mounted window coverings. They come in packs of 2 or 4 and your choice of black or white. TIP: Be sure you leave a little space between the light blockers and the window covering in both directions for smooth operation.

The SEEYE PVC Light Blockers arrived protected inside a box.The PVC light blockers feel quite solid and not flimsy. Except for a smudge on one of the blockers, the materials seem ok.Comes with 4 thin foam strips to fill thin gaps during installation.This is a decent DIY item to help quickly shield off gaps between the blinds and wall/window frame.

First, these really do block light. Second, I made a strategic error when ordering these. Our pueblo-revival style home has slight curved edge for the window opening. The cellular shades were installed a bit inside from the glass to avoid the locks on the sliding windows. This meant I had to install the blocker a little deeper into the window than I had initially figured. This meant the block was a very very tight fit for our cellular shades. I was barely able to open and close the shades and needed my husband's help to manually guide the shade along the inner side of the light blocker. The blocker did make the room quite dark. However, needing two people to open or close the shades is just a non-starter. If you have a deeper window and the blinds do not go all the way to the edge of the window opening, you should be able to finess positioning the blocker successfully. Because I did not figure out the installation issue before ordering, I did not take off any stars because the blocker does work well. Sadly, I had to remove them due to the physical barriers of doing an installation that works!

Last year I converted an ambulance into a camper and traveled for 8 weeks, not always staying in an official campground. So what was I most concerned about? Privacy. Especially when I was trying to stealth camp and not let anyone know there was someone inside the vehicle. I had to tape down the blackout shade almost completely. But in the daytime, I had to remove all of the tape. These are perfect both for blocking the light from penetrating to the outdoors, but especially from preventing anyone from trying to peek in the side gaps in the windows. The frames are stronger than expected, with the thick 2mm plastic material having some flex, but easily springing back to position without denting as you would expect with thin aluminum. This will allow me to have blinds that easily remove or roll up in the daytime without having to retape my privacy shields each night. I didn't need new blinds. I just needed these.

I can tell you these worked great with my roll up blinds. The stick easily to the inner window wall making it easy to install. They are sturdy and feel they will hold up well. I ordered the white ones

SEEYE Blackout Light Blockers, PVC Light Blockers Side Tracks for Roller Window Shades and Blinds 100% Blackout L-Shaped Light Blocking Strips for Bedroom, Easy to Install(White, 57.3'', 4pcs): $34.99 as of 03/10/25Picked these up not only for the obvious purpose, but because this vendor provides four (4) blockers for the same price everyone else provides just two (2).They do what they say: blocking edge light leak.What is on you the consumer though is proper preparation and application. Be sure to clean your window framing where you plan to use these. If you have older wooden windows where the finish is rough or flaking (say old varnish), then do not expect the adhesive strips to hold. Why? Because your finish isn't holding either. So in this case (as is ours), I suggest drilling out a few holes on the brackets and using small screws to secure.
