About this item

  • Natural, relaxed, high-fidelity sound with extra sub bass: Ultra-light aluminum voice coil with 300-ohm impedance for excellent impulse response and an intimate sound with great timbre
  • Airflow-optimised 42mm high-performance transducers: Improved ventilation due to a uniquely powerful vented magnet system for minimal distortion and air displacement control through steel mesh damping
  • Double the sound pressure at the lowest octaves: You can feel the lowest note on the piano (27.5 Hz) or the kick of the bass drum (45-60 Hz) as if you were there, at the recording studio
  • Exceptional comfort and build quality: The open-back design offers exceptional breathability and the plush ear cushions deliver maximum comfort - for long listening sessions
  • Outstanding quality designed in Germany, made in Ireland: With a frequency response of 8 Hz - 41,500 Hz and detachable, long cables for comfortable desktop use

From thundering timpani, to the melodic sound of a guitar, the impressive singing voice of your favorite artist, or the beat of electronic dance music, nothing creates drama like powerful bass. Ideal for music lovers, the non-fatiguing, high-end HD 660S2 now delivers even more impact and emotion. Our engineers optimized the HD 660S's surround, transducer airflow, and coil to double the sound pressure at the lowest octaves. You can feel the lowest note on the piano (27.5 Hz) or the kick of the bass drum (45-60 Hz) as if you were there at the recording studio, allowing you to pick out individual instruments and discover new sonic details. The relaxed sound and open-black design make it an extremely comfortable headphone that is also suitable for long listening sessions. The headphone's warm, relaxed sound is reflected in its timeless design and elegant bronze accents. With warm tuning, smooth treble and strong bass, the standard-setter for extended listening is now also the standard for extended bass.

Had a pair of hd650s for 15 years before getting these. To my ear they bring everything I love about the 650s plus some really great expanded bass. The mids don’t feel as prominent but are still clear as day, definitely worth that small trade off. Highly recommend especially if your old 6 series pair have died and you’re looking for a replacement.

The sound is quite balanced for my taste (so no screaming basses and highs, which I wouldn't like).I had before those Bower & Wilkins (yeah, I know, I just followed the hype many years ago, don't hate me for that). In comparison, even though B&W were more expensive, those are just much better. I'm not a audiophile, yet I hear the difference pretty convincing that these headphones are good. The only problem with these headphones, I think Sennheiser kind of competing with this and other models: 6xx, 650 are really good for a bit better price. Perhaps, this may not be the best value in that comparison, just don't throw away the idea of other models and you may get better deal.

So glad I bought these, they were a treat and wondered if I should spend the money. Worth the price and value for money. The fit is very comfortable, does have not excessive clamp and light weight. I forget I have them on sometimes and even that they have a cable.Sound wise they sound pretty neutral to me, but I’m not an expert. You can hear more detail in the mix and instruments. Sound stage is not impressive but not bad either. I have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4s and although they are fairly easy to listen to they are far to bassy the point of being harsh and sound muddy, if you have been listening to these. Better frequency-wise, and more comfortable than a pair of oldish Grado SR225s.Yes they are open, yes there are other more practical headphones with noise cancelling and wireless features, and apps etc. But these are old school, no fuss and make you appreciate the music again.. easy to understand why they are fan favourites. Always surprised when I put them on.Only gripe is that the cable catches my nose and mouth when taking them off in a hurry. Theyre a bit underpowered on my iPhone, so you’ll need a dac or amp of some sorts. Works perfectly well on my MacBook Pro without extra amplification.Decent build quality, but sadly no decent case for your money.
