These are rebranded Midea units from China. Senville is basically reseller and you will find other very similar units under other brand names. They perform well for the price, but have their quarks. Their tech support knows less than what you can find out from google. If you DIY, make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Installation is pretty straightforward if you are competent. The instructions/manuals have errors, omits key information and have clearly been translated. Budget at least $500 more for parts required to complete installation.Overall, I am happy. Efficiency/power consumption is better than expected. Has some operational characteristics that I wish could be adjusted/changed. Personally, I would buy again.

I'd like to say that this is an impressive unit, but I can't. No matter what I set the temp at, the unit will not cooperate. I set it for 75 and it cools the house to 70. It would keep cooling lower than 70 if I don't manually turn it off. Same applies to it's heating capabilities. It will not stop at any temperature I set it at. After further research, I come to realize you cannot put any other thermostat on this unit, but the one that came with it (which is garbage). It will not work.Update: After about a years worth of use, the unit stopped producing heat altogether. Just blows cold air. I certainly would not recommend this product to anyone. Go with something that's made in America.

Worked great for the first few months of installation, and has been trouble every since. It struggles to heat a 350 sqft space, even though it has plenty of refrigerant. It seems nobody can tell me what's wrong with it. Their technical support is lackluster at best, essentially just telling me to call an HVAC technician. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all cost.

Very efficient way to heat the house. Consumes about 1200 watts to heat 1000 square feet x2 levels, at average of 5C outside. If you know what that means then you know this is great.Only complaints are poor instructions, and the inability to control it remotely over the internet and I don't think it's possible to retrofit either. Also the fancy looking thermostat and display give basically no information. Id like to know performance information like output% or something.. but there's nothing not even room temp. Kinda frustrating actually.BUY A PROPER STANDthis unit will produce a lot of ice build up under it. Need to have room for that to accumulate. Don't mount directly on concrete as tempting as that seems.

This unit was installed in a tiny 580sf cottage (4 rooms: bdrm, living rm, kitchen & bathroom) - using 6" & 8" round rigid ducts and our own return/supply plenums fabricated using materials from Lowe's and Home Depot (8-in x 16-in x 48-in rectangle rigid duct & end caps). This was not an easy DIY install due to the complexity of ducting, vent size, etc., so we consulting with an HVAC expert and got approval on a simple trunk/branch duct design. Basically, we created 3 return vents (including one for outside air) and 4 supply vents for each room. We also hooked this system up to WiFi after consulting with Senville by purchasing the SENV-SP23 adapter and USB WiFi dongle (OSK102, OSK103 or OSK105 will work -these are generic Midea modules that are also compatible on other mini splits, such as Pioneer). If anybody wants to try doing a ducted install like this themselves, I would definitely recommend consulting with a local or online HVAC consultant that works independently so they could help you choose the right size mini split, duct/vent size & design, etc. that's appropriate for the square footage and climate zone of your living space. You would have an easier time working with insulated flexible duct, however, we chose rigid ducts for efficiency of air flow, longevity and hoping it's more "critter-proof" since we're located in a rural area.As far as customer service goes, Senville has been very quick to respond to my support e-mails and I am generally really happy and impressed with this company so far. This is basically like a re-branded Midea unit (like a lot of these DIY mini splits available online), and I had a smaller wall unit installed 3 years ago that's still running great, so I am very comfortable choosing this similar unit for my vacation cottage. This type of install was not an easy task, but it looks way better than a window or "wall wart" unit and probably saved me more than $10k!

I love the product and it is much more versatile than just a ductless mini split. Customer support is Texas based and is phenomenal to work with.I installed myself and was very easy, but I am a home builder and mechanically inclined. On to the cons. My home is 1400sqft and super insulated. My Jcalc calculates to 27000 BTUs of cooling needed. I have a ductless 1 ton on one side of the house, and this 1 1/2 ton attached to ductwork driving the rest of the house. Performance is great, but I didn’t realize until later that the blower fan used in this setup is really only designed for one room. I needed to add a much larger blower fan off of Amazon to get the CFMs higher, and therefore cool the house better. Support told me the 2 ton unit and larger are designed for whole house, but the 1 1/2 ton is designed for a single room. Also, their filter is very rudimentary. I recommend buying a filter grill for the return side, or buy a filter box like one from AC Infinity. This unit came with their new thermostat, which is a huge upgrade over the old one. No Wi-Fi, but that’s ok with me.I recommend this unit, but you’ll want to verify with a pro that you’re sized correctly and have enough CFM. Additionally, you’ll need to build duct boxes on either end of this unit in order to attach to standard duct work.

I wanted a mini split heat pump that didn't require having a large air handling unit mounted to wall. We have a lot of windows in our great room and mounting a air handler would have been cumbersome and unsightly. This concealed duct unit was just the ticket to my situation. We have a large crawl space under the house so I mounted the air handler to the floor joists and then built a supply air plenum that attached to the supply air side of the air handler. From the plenum I ran four round ducts to individual infloor registers that I had cut into the laminate floor in the great room. So no unsightly wall mounted air handler, just inconspicuous floor registers to supply heat in the winter and cool air in the summer.I got my first electrical bill since install of the heat pump and it was considerably less than normal. I hope the heat pump lasts a long time but it does look well constructed. Time will tell.

We installed a SENA 18HF concealed duct unit in our art studio. We are heating and cooling about 750 square feet of space. It performs beautifully, keeping us effortlessly comfortable. We had one question of customer support and Sam was very courteous and solved our dilemma immediately. Good price, good product, good service. What more can you ask for?

After owning 3 of these units for several months now, I can definitely tell you to stay away! They were fairly easy to install (if you have the right tools). They worked well in the summer up to about 80 degrees. Over that they struggled. After a couple months, one started making a very loud noise. I called support and they told me to restart it and they would call me back in 30 minutes. I am still waiting for the call, 52 days later, and it’s still making the noise. The thermostat has a 3 degree +/- which means you set it for 70 and the room swings between 67 and 73 all day and night. I asked support and they said that is “normal”! They were working ok in the cold until it got down to 0 and they completely went to crap. Blowing out cold air and leaving my family to freeze. Luckily I have a fireplace and was able to save my family and my plumbing! Save your money! These are junk and their tech support is a joke!!!!!!!!!

I've had mine for almost a year now (installed November 2020), and I have no complaints. Was honestly one of the best purchases I made for my home in recent years. I have a 1,100sq ft house and this heat pump had no problems heating or cooling my whole house. It can get as low as -20C or high as +35C here where I live, and this Senville unit had no problems heating or cooling in those conditions.
