Biggest drawback is the installation manual. It leaves a lot out. I would suggest that if you are not mechanically inclined or an experienced diy'er don't buy this. I had to build my own plenums and install ductwork but I am still happy with the operation of the unit. This is my 4th Senville install.

The thermostat it comes with is inaccurate and results in the unit constantly running. To combat this I ordered one of the thermostats on Amazon that replicates the radio signals on mini splits, for me it was the Cielo unit and configured it. I then needed to remove batteries from the remote control included and I needed to open the circuit panel on both the the thermostat and received included with the AC and remove the speaker. I also pulled the screen connector ribbon so the screen wouldn't light up. Then I routed both the thermostat and the wireless receiver in my attic through the return duct and into the intake so that the new thermostats signal could reach it when placed on the wall nearby. I also chose a location near an outlet for my thermostat so I could throw a duplex outlet inside of the wall to allow the new thermostat to get power from without wires on the wall. Now I have a smart thermostat. And don't try using a nest or anything because this unit creates high low 12/24v signals that aren't compatible with them. Also be patient when you're filling the system and read the sequences super closely. I used a 35 amp breaker for this system.

quit working after 4 months...cant get a hold of anyone from Senville! UPDATE: Senville reached out to me and we got the problem fixed. it is a great working unit and would recommend now!

I’ve had this unit for a year and it’s worked a total of 3 weeks. Only worked 1 week before it broke, they sent parts and I had technicians come out multiple multiple times. Finally months later it was fixed, only to last 2-3 weeks before it broke again. Buy something more name brand, this is cheap and will not last. Spare yourself the aggravation and trouble.Also, I never write reviews and gave them a year to try to make it right but I’m over it.This product is terrible.

Installation took some hours, with ductwork to connect it to the original square duct in my house. Both units are super quiet, outdoor unit can't be heard at all and indoor unit only when it runs on high speed. Then a "singing" sound can be heard, but it's still a lot more quiet than other A/C.The price tag is really, really low. You get an up-to-date A/C, even with heat pump, and a good 20 SEER rating.The only downside is the thermostat connection. It uses a data cable and a data protocol, and doesn't allow to connect to an existing thermostat. I have no other choice than placing an ugly white plastic box (the thermostat control) beside my beautiful NEST thermostat on the wall. This sucks.

This heat pump was bought for a house I'm flipping. It's 1456 square feet and this pump is slightly larger than what the local hvac computations says the house needs. But, the price is excellent and after my tech installed it, it will provide the buyers with excellent service. Takes a home from the "middle class" level to the "upper middle class level for less money than just installing a furnace or baseboard heaters.
