Overall, I like these wire storage baskets and find them nice and roomy, along with having a good look. The squares on the bottom have a dimension of about 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" in the openings. Because of having a rectangular shape on the bottom edges, the openings there are closer to 1 1/4" x 2". The bottom corners do have an extra piece of wire that goes across diagonally so that those openings don't get too large, which is a nice touch.The wood surrounding the edges is surprisingly lightweight, but is securely attached to the wire bottom with small screws. The cutouts for the handles are rough...no sanding happened here. The stain also didn't make it to the inside upper portion of the handles. If the baskets are a bit below eye level or lower, you wouldn't notice. However, if they are being used on an upper shelf, or somewhere higher, you would notice this.

I am absolutely thrilled with this set of 3 metal wire baskets! My photos don’t do them justice, but trust me; they are stunning in person. Each basket comes in a different size and can nest neatly inside one another, which is super handy for storing them when not in use. The baskets themselves feel incredibly sturdy, and the bamboo wood trim around the top adds a natural touch that elevates the look. They work great in any space, from organizing the pantry and laundry supplies to storing toiletries in the bathroom underneath the sink. I especially like their more shallow depth – they go down deep enough to keep things organized but also in view so that you don’t wind up with a jumbled-up mess. Recently I’ve been switching from the disposable plastic bins of yesterday, and these baskets are a perfect example of sustainable storage that’s cute but also clearly built to last. Highly recommend.

These wire baskets look great on the vanity in my main bathroom. I put hand towels in one, soap in another and shampoo in the third as this is the bathroom our guests use. They keep the vanity looking organized and very pretty.
