PARTSELECT IGINITION COIL

Principle of ignition coil:

  • The auto ignition coil is actually the car ignition coil. The simple explanation of the ignition coil is to allow the spark plug to "generate sparks" to ignite the parts of the mixed gas in the cylinder.
  • A transformer that is actually responsible for converting the low-voltage current of the vehicle into high-voltage electricity.
  • Normally, each cylinder is equipped with a set of ignition coils. The ignition coils are generally replaced at a distance of 100,000 kilometres or more.

When and why should you replace ignition coils?

  • Ignition coils would fail due to age, overuse or simply manufacture defects. The material can crack or melt due to the heat from the electrical terminals. Replace your ignition coils as soon as your car starts showing signs of misfire, the engine check light appears or if your vehicle manual suggest that you replace them after a period of time.
  • The symptoms of defective coils depends on the car in question. It could be a misfire, backfiring, burnt gasoline smell, or starting issues when your “Check Engine Light” turns on. This will appear on the dashboard as a CEL. Prolonged engine misfire will destroy the catalytic converter and can lead to engine detonation.
  • When replacing ignition coils it is best to have them replaced all at once. Keep in mind that if one of the coils goes defective, then the others are probably going to be defective in the near future.
  • The number of ignition coils in the car depends on the car engine, model and year. Do not assume all vehicles are the same.

A faulty coil could cause major performance and structural issues for your vehicle, so if are experiencing any of the below symptoms, that means you need to check your coils emmidiately

Junk. Started getting a misfire code, so I went to pull the spark plug and the coil just came apart. Will be replacing all of them soon

I purchased these as part of a tune up kit I put together for my 2017 Chevrolet Cruze with the 1.4 Turbo. The car had just rolled 150,000 miles on it, and now, 10,000 miles later, I can say these are working just fine. Not sure if they are better than the OEM parts, but no issues to report. The yellow color was kinda neat too. Doesn't do anything for performance, but look cool. These drop right in and bolt up like the OEM parts. Perfect fit. No worries.

I bought Partselect ignition coils after having mixed issues with other non OEM product. The physical quality of the coil pack is evident with good quality materials and finish. I have now installed and tested them and the performance was noticeably improved and were very stable. Happy with the product and would recommend them to anyone who is skeptical of non OEM parts.

Purchased these for a Dodge Grand Caravan. Everything worked well except the bolts to secure the coils are about 1/8" longer than the OEM ones. To be safe I reused the original bolts. The bolts fit into brass threaded collars I settled on the plastic rocker covers. I've only put about 50km hwy and street on the vehicle since installation and so far so good.

Purchased for my 2007 4Runner. Product arrived on time and was exactly as described. A pleasant surprise was that it came with a small pair of mechanics gloves. Now, too small for my hands and not the best quality, but my wife can use them around the yard. Install took about 30 minutes, only because of the configuration of my engine components; plus, I’m only a novice at this. Installed only one day ago but everything seems to be working well. And for the record, at my local parts store I would have paid 3 times as much. As of right now, I would recommend this product to others.
