I'm an adult and I made these myself, more as a stress reliever and to show my daughter about sewing. The instructions are clear and the templates and helpful, but tiny. The plants are super cute.I think it's a little ambitious for elementary school kids unless there's experienced-with-sewing parental supervision. Middle school kids may be better in skill level but patience varies.

Kiddo loves this as a present. We opened it right away. Great mom and daughter craft. She enjoyed making the cactus. Easy to follow instructions. Surplus of supplies to customize as you see fit. New fav craft books

While I think it would be too involved for younger children new to sewing, older kids or people (teens and adults) new and learning sewing will enjoy this. It has great coloured pages, clear instructions and graphics, with lots of ideas for expanding or giving variation on what your making. The final plants are beyond adorable. Very happy with this kit.

I got this for my 7 year old and it is very good. Instructions are easy to read with lots of pictures. Felt and colours are nice just wish there was some extra green felt as he has almost ran out of the green :). Great first hand sewing kit!

This is the second book from this series that I got for my daughter. She had the food one and liked it so much she asked for the plant one for Christmas! She is 16, so she is able to do everything on her own. I would guess maybe kids 13 and up could do it by themselves. 12 and under might need some help! It includes felt needed to make all the projects, and includes pictures of variations so you can change how it looks. The nice thing is that felt is relatively inexpensive at the craft store so you can use the book over and over again. The picture is of some of the thugs she made from the food version of this book!

My kids love making the projects from here. My 10 year old could work on this independently. It comes with easy templates so you can make as many as you want if you buy more fabric. If you have a crafty kid this is a great gift. I've even had s adults say they would want to try making some.

I love that this kit gives you everything you need, plus excellent instructions. This is the second kit I've purchased as they are good quality. My 8yo is able to do most of the things by herself. The pot included however is very small, so we purchased more pots and pipe cleaners from the dollar store to use with the plants we made from the kit. Good value.

I can say, this is one of the best purchases I've made for my kids. They stayed busy all weekend with this. Kids were so busy with this they actually stayed quiet all weekend. The cut outs were super helpful. All they did was cut out the pieces, then traced them on the fabric, then sewed them together. Thought I was going to see some mutant sewn on plants that I had to pretend to love, but I was actually impressed! I'm gonna be honest and say I love my kids and some of their crafts are something only a mom can love. This was not the case, I have their sewn garden in the kitchen. The instructions were simple enough for ages 8 to 11.

I'm in love with the sewing kits from Klutz, I have the food, animals and now the gardens kit and I love them all. I've made magnets and given so many away. They work great for gifts for children (who aren't in the chewing phase). My child is 11 and has fun making projects from the kits as well. I've also bought felt from craft stores and used it with the patterns as well. Can't say enough good things about these kits!
