Normally, a Seymour Duncan SH-1n is a great sounding pickup. However, with this most recent acquisition I'm thinking, while the coils are in phase, the polarity of magnets are wonky. This is disappointing because I have always had great outcomes with installing Seymour Duncan pickups in numerous guitars.

I paired this with a JB and I’m in love. This sounds unbelievable on a bassbreaker amp. In split coil, it maintains its character while gaining clarity as well. This is a great pickup.

So my father had owned a guitar over 20 years ago. A First Act kind of guitar called Synsonics. After acquiring I had gotten the guitar upgraded to a cheap setup. Threw in a Dimebucker a bit over a year ago and have been waiting to get this pickup to complete the Dimebag setup.WARM, SMOOTH, RICH in the low and high end and sounds beautiful paired with the Dimebuckers. Now with the negatives. I have read reviews that some have received single conductor and not the 4 conductor pickup. I did receive the 4 conductor and it is absolutely amazing!!

The Product was great. It's Seymour Duncan. Was sent a Single Conductor instead of 4 Conductor both times and had to return both. I had to order from someone else to get it right. It was marked 4 Conductor but it was not. Delayed job for a over a week.

Great pickup, add a bill lawrence for the bridge and you have a great combo for rock. blues and funk.

Paired this with an SD Custom in the bridge. Figured this might be good for the rare occasion I play clean. Let me tell you, my Mexican Telecaster HH stays with its switch in the neck position now. That alder Fender body sounds more like a Gibson Les Paul now than an Epiphone does. It's full, robust, and round with just the right pinch of bass. Yes, the Custom is good for distortion and I use it in my punk band but when I'm at home, it stays on the '59 with just the slightest bit of breakup. Being from Mississippi, I can't help myself from closing my eyes and pretending I'm playing Lucille every so often on this pup. Bottom line: perfect replica of the Seth Lover design. Better than anything any other company makes today, and yes I'm including Gibson.

I am amazed I actually know what this is all about. But why shouldn't I? Before Seymour Duncan decided to wind pickups as his business, my husband wound his own using my sewing machine. For goodness sake, I LOVE SD!
