What else can I say? It delivers what it promises, gets up to a nice temperate, has powerful stirring, and was a good price. I've only been using it for 4ish months, so I can't speak to long term reliability yet, but so far everything's great and I would recommend this item.

For the price, you can't go wrong. Well made and has a powerful heating element. Comes with a stirrer and a stand for holding other gear.

I read some reviews on the poor temperature control, and they are spot on. I decided to open up the unit to see if it was a defect or just poor design, and it's the latter. The circuitry which controls the heating element is essentially like a light dimmer. On top of that, the dial is quite misleading, which adds to the confusion. On the heat knob, when you turn it all the way to the left, there's a distinct "click" which turns the heating circuitry completely off. When you turn it "on", it clicks again, and the "heat" light comes up, which would imply that the unit is heating. But it's not. It only triggers the heat circuitry when you turn the dial about half way up, right about where the blue line printed above the knob begins. If you're in a quiet room and your hearing isn't completely shot, you can hear the circuitry kick on.Once it the circuitry triggers on, you CAN dial back the control a bit to apply less power, but there's no way to know exactly where it will trigger off (you can hear it, however). Messing around with this, the lowest temp I was able to achieve was 55C.Think of the heating element like the light dimmer which I mentioned earlier. When you start turning the light dimmer up, the light suddenly comes on, but not at it's lowest level. You can dial back a light dimmer to a lower light output than what initially came on when you turned the light on.Now, I am only using this for pc board etching, and just warming the solution, so this will work for me, and I can turn the heating element completely off once I warm the solution, since the PCB will etch in just a few minutes. But if you're looking for accurate temp control, this is NOT for you.I may fiddle with the circuit to see if I can get this to kick on at a lower temp and will post any updates if I have a quick solution.

This hot plate has a powerful performance. It has a maximum stirring capacity of 2000ml and can reach a maximum heating plate temperature of 380℃. The stirring speed is also adjustable, ranging from 100 to 2000 rpm, allowing precise control. This hot plate can easily handle whether you need to stir a small or large volume of liquid.Operating the hot plate is simple. It has dual controls for heating and stirring, allowing you to conveniently manage both functions simultaneously. Additionally, the package includes a 1-inch magnetic stir bar, which is more than sufficient for stirring a significant amount of liquid. This makes it ideal for various applications such as scientific research, industry, agriculture, health and medicine, and even home brewing. What sets this hot plate apart is its reliability. It has obtained CE safety certification, giving me peace of mind knowing that it meets the necessary safety standards. The package also includes essential accessories such as an adjustable thermometer rack, stainless steel rods, a fuse, a US plug, a power cable, an operational manual, and a Teflon-coated stirring bar. Including these accessories adds value to the product and ensures a seamless user experience.Overall, the Topeline Lab Hot Plate Magnetic Stirrer is a high-quality product that delivers exceptional performance. Its durability, powerful stirring capabilities, ease of use, and reliable safety features make it a standout in its category. I highly recommend this hot plate for anyone needing a reliable and efficient stirring solution.

Purchased for use with laboratory distillation and soxhlet apparatus setups. Used a standard kitchen hot plate prior.Overall, worlds better than a standard hot plate! The most significant improvement by far is the build quality which is very solid!Almost made completely of stainless steal. Knobs turn smoothly and function with great precision. Highly Splash proof with even large spills leaving the hot plate unaffected.Separate power switch is useful for ensuring the hot plate isn’t accidentally turned on.Very flexible function and is pretty easy to handle with larger volumes up to 2000ml. The ability to heat and stir simultaneously promotes even boiling as well as prevents precipitation making distillation so much easier!

I do not have long term experience with this, but got it yesterday and used it all night working with emulsions in erlenmeyers. 100ml heats to boil quickly, the mixer provides enough power to stir significantly thickened fluids with great energy. The surface is perfectly flat and the unit is made from cast metal that seems extremely well designed. The edges of the hot plate are dangerous, but this is not unique to this device and underlines the need for normal caution. Not for kids. I will buy more for my lab.

The description says it has a max temperature of 380 deg C. I put the heat setting to the highest setting for over an hour with nothing on the plate. It eventually peaked at 278 deg C. I used an IR temperature gun to determine the temp.I tried boiling a beaker with 2L of water. It took over an hour to get it to 66 deg C. I gave up on that test after that.If you are not in a hurry to heat something up, then this will do just fine.

I use this thing for mixing some e juices, it works great but the hot plate goes from warming to really really hot within a slight ageist if the nob. Just takes some finessing but other then that works great.
