This item appears to separate the sigal for a vhf radio and a am/fm receiver allowing full usage of both systems without having to connect it to a 12v supply!

After taking 1 hour to assemble I installed B S to my Shakespeare marine antenna. And my AM/FM radio had no sound. I ended up going to Walmart and buying Auto antenna and it works excellent. The Band Separator was a waste of money.

The product and installation instructions were great. The only issue was that the heat-shrink on the FM antenna connector was hampering a proper fit with the radio antenna connector.

Saves from needing to mount a separate antenna. Great reception.

Product works great. Makes it so much better than having multiple antennas on the boat. You will need a soldering iron for installation.

Works as advertised. Good product and keeps one less antenna off your boat. And come on guys, complaining that you have to attach the connector. They do this so you can adjust the length of wire that you need and really it's not that had to attach. You can do it with the components they supply or you can attach it using a soldering iron if you have one, either way it works just fine.My one and only complaint is the cost of the splitter. The cost is a little more than if you just added the Shakespeare AM/FM 4350, SHA4350 antenna. I think Shakespeare is taking advantage of the consumer just a tad bit.

My husband ordered this for his little cruiser boat. Something to do with the radio and antennae, etc. He had no problems with it and is happy that his radio works. So I reckon this little gizmo did the job all right - or I would have heard cussing.

This is a great product and installed easy. If you are not tech savvy it could be a little hard to strip the wire and reset the included tip. Otherwise easy to use.

I installed this on my boat to allow me to use my VHF antenna to serve as my AM/FM radio antenna. It works fine and infact my boat now has the best AM/FM reception I can imagine. This set up outperforms my home audio by a mile. And my VHF radio works without a hitch. I can not tell any difference in the quality of the VHF reception or transmission. Anyone who uses VHF however knows that you can not always count on the person you are trying to call, will actually recieve and respond back to you. But I have done some radio checks to a local Marina, and they still read me fine. The problem is the white cable. The little inside plug extension got stuck inside my AM/FM radio the first time I used it. I had to pull it out using a small screw that I gently screwed into the inside of the middle extension that was stuck deep into my AM/FM radio, and pulled the screw holding the inner part of the plug out with a needle nose pliers. Then I went to radio shack and purchased a solderless coax cable plug that matched the one on the cable and installed it. The radio shack plug saved the day. Foolishly I purchased just one radio shack plug assuming that the cable that came with the Shakespeare unit was faulty at just one end. I was wrong. When I went to hook it all up again, the other side of the cable came apart exactly the same way but inside the little band sepeator unit. It was much easier to get the little inside plug out of the sepeartor than it was getting it outo of my AM/FM radio, but I had to do the same fix with another radio shack plug. Now everything works fine, but the added time to re-do the white Shakespeare cable was a royal pain. By the way, I looked far and wide to find an identical replacement white cable, but could not. The only answer for me was the radio shack solderless plug.
