Nice rod for my nephew (7 years old). It is lightweight and his first "big boy" rod. Looks good for beginners, but would not recommend for serious anglers.

For a first time rod, this is a great value. I picked it up because it was my 8 year old nephew’s favorite team colors. Super strong and he is learning to cast better than on his dad’s reel.He’s been fishing a few times now and keeps asking how big a fish can he catch with it… love that he has a great piece of fishing equipment to get him started on a life long love of fishing.This type of rod/reel combo makes it so easy to teach kids to fish. No tangles yet due to casting and the retrieve is smooth. Great Product!

Love the fact that you can personalize, but the 2 separate rods kept disconnecting after every few casts. Couldn’t keep pieces together & didn’t want to permanently glue together. Also line tangled very easily. Kids got frustrated.
