Reading the reviews suggesting cheap 3D printed plastic, I bought two of these, one for the next fix. I’m glad I did because I messed up the first one from not reading the included instructions (100% my fault, since my error was addressed in the instructions). The plastic was too tight to press into place, so having removed the plastic collar (not needed for final assembly), I tapped the brass shaft to seat the thing in place. However, the plastic seated and the shaft pushed flush with the plastic with a couple of taps, making it unusable. It took a while to dig it all out - the plastic is brittle and breaks off well, a vice grip was used, along with various other tools to get all the plastic out. I suspect replacing this in the future will be equally a hassle, unlike the OEM broken part which came out easily. I knew what I had done wrong, read the instructions to confirm, and left the plastic collar on to tap the second one into place. Worked like a charm, and the collar is then thrown out. So, you don’t need the collar in the end, but you do need it to install easily. My bad. Seems to be working fine now. Photo is shown partway through digging it out.

The replacement worked perfectly, but one star off for being ridiculously expensive for what you get.

I've used My KitchenAid pasta maker for years. Something accidentally got snagged between the rollers last time and before I could stop the machine, this sheer pin snapped. They are designed to break to protect machine from internal damage, but it seems like the manufacturer could have come up with some sort of a slip clutch that would have served the same purpose. It's almost unethical that KitchenAid doesn't sell replacements for this disposable link in the drive train. Pop a sheer pin in the "sheet" roller? You have to buy a whole new pasta roller set! Thank heavens for this seller coming to the rescue! 100% thumbs up!

It fits and it works! This saved me a lot of money versus replacing my entire KitchenAid attachment. Thank you!

The plastic piece looks like a 3D printed part in my opinion. To me it has all the classic looks and feel of a part that has been 3D printed. Not saying that’s bad or good just I don’t want a 3D printed part, I only needed the brass shear pin anyways so I tapped that part out of the plastic and inserted it into the original plastic piece from the pasta roller.. which fit nicely and works perfectly.

Beware of others that claim to fit kitchenaid pasta roller. This one is tighter than original but can be tapped gently in place. Works great.
