I’ve had problems with these impellers, seem to only last a month on my GenSet. Bushing just spins in the center. Called manufacturer said they’d get back to me. Never heard from them.

I recently had to to replace the impeller in my almost new Onan 7.5 kW MDKBJ generator. The replacement part listed is a 132-0493. Unfortunately my marina didn't have that, but what the did have was a 541-1524. This part is actually listed as a replacement for the Onan MDKBH. It was however an exact match for the impeller I removed, right down to the molding marks in the neoprene. ??? Interesting. Since I haven't put my hands on the 132-0493 I can't say for sure whether it's the same item or the part number listed for my genset is wrong. Moving on.The price for the OEM replacement item was an outrageous $73.81. This sent me on a mission to find an alternative. The Sherwood/Pentair 8000k is what I came up with. The OEM impellers have the number 8000 molded into the root of the molding, just like the Sherwood. Hmmm. As a toolmaker in my previous life I can see that they are not made from exactly the same tooling, but it appears to be from the same drawings, or a very good copy. The bottom line is that it is from a reputable company at a small fraction of the price. I am happy.
