Slipped right on the shaft of my Dual Port 1600. Easy replacement. Feels solid and tightened up the shifting on the trans. I did have to readjust the shifter after installing to get all the gears to shift properly

Had to clean/file and sand the bore for the transmission selector shaft to get it to fit as reported by many others. After that no issues. Installed and now have a nice solid shifter feel.

Must have, much better than OEM or aftermarket OEM copies. I got a OEM copy shift coupler from bus depot and it was junk. I like bus depot but they need to do a better job filtering what they stock and sell. This part was great, fit perfectly and being cast iron instead of formed sheet metal makes it much stiffer and stronger.

My old one split so I purchased this one because it's solid cast. Installed easy and woks.

If your VW has a sloppy shifter, one of your shifter bushings is probably worn out. You're hoping it's the rear coupler instead of the front shifter bushing, because the front bushing is a nightmare to replace. Well, tighten up those bootstraps because it's probably the front bushing. If you're lucky and the rear coupler is actually worn out (my factory coupler was good after almost 50 years and I just replaced as preventative maintenance), this is a suitable replacement. Put some blue Loctite or safety wire through the set screw before you tighten it, because that set screw will strand you if it lets go.

Mine looked good in a 74 Westy. But I decided to replace all bushings and components in the shift linkage. This one is so much better built than the $8.00 alternative. Neoprene bushings and strong cross lock pin. It’s 4x expensive but worth only having to replace it once!! Very glad I did. Huge better difference on shifting!!
