Its enough work to replace it that it needs to be right the materials too stiff and causes the steering column cow pieces to spread when you pull it into Low gears. Better off buying one from GM.

At first when it’s installed, it was very stiff. So you need to move it around a lot or stretch it a little bit. For the price it’s a good quality part. Now to install it (without ripping or tearing it) all you need to do is remove the knee bolster panel, remove the column shroud. Disconnect the orange colored tow/Haul cable for the shifter and the shifter should be unbolted with a torx bit. Take the shifter out and slide the boot in with the cable going through. Hope this helps
