Also needed replacement cable to balance properly. There are some good youtube videos to help.

Great brake set overall, and a bargain at this price, but they went Cheap with the tension adjusting screws. They are soft metal and have Philips heads. Replace them with ~3mm Allen or Torx screws of the same length. Longer screws don't add travel - they just make it easier to strip the threads by seeming to have more travel left when bottomed out.

All good, fits perfectly and most importantly stops the bike better than old bake.

The item I bought from Amazon turned out to be slightly used, while sold as new. Not atypical for Amazon. Could see slight wear on the brake pads, maybe just from one brake test, but not what new pads look like.Good product at an excellent price, though. I got this as a temporary substitute while I repair my XTR v-brakes, and I've got to say that even though the XTR is a work of art I want to rebuild carefully, I can't really tell a functional difference when riding with this far cheaper brake vs. the XTR. So it gets 5 stars. However, I was surprised to find that it did not completely fit around my ~2.5" wide MTB tires. When installed with my XTR brake pads, at full braking clamp force, the beam of these brakes would rub against the side of the tire. I had not expected this. I was able to engineer around it using washers, etc. This is a temporary solution for me, so it is working great for that.I have seen this item listed as a gravel bike v-brake. Never understood what that could mean. But now I can see that they are assuming you'll be using it on thinner tires than a mountain bike might have. All in all, glad I bought it. Amazing what is all included for this low price - pads, noodle, mounting bolts x2, etc.

I upgraded my bike’s brakes to the Shimano BR-T4000 V-Brakes, and they’ve been absolutely perfect. I replaced both the front and rear brakes, and the difference in stopping power is incredible—the bike now stops exactly like it should. These brakes are easy to install and adjust, even for someone without much experience. One of the best parts is the lack of squeal. After struggling with noisy brakes for far too long, these are refreshingly quiet. The stopping performance is smooth, consistent, and reliable, making them a huge improvement over my old setup. If you’re looking for an affordable and effective upgrade, these V-brakes are a fantastic choice. Highly recommended! Five stars!

My brakes were sticking and hard to keep in adjustment. I decided to take a shot at fixing the problem myself. I bought both matching front and rear brakes. The first step, if you have not done this before, is to find a good instruction video on YouTube. I watched a couple and got a few good tips that made the job a lot easier and more successful.I replaced both the front and rear brakes, adjusted them, and took off riding. I have a few thousand miles on them now and they still work great. I'll probably never have a bike shop do this again.
