Slow shifting is a bummer, and there are lots of reasons for it, but if you've eliminated derailleur problems, cassette issues, and general grime as the culprits, it might be time to replace your shift cables and housing with Shimano's Dura-Ace OT-SP41 Polymer-Coated Derailleur Cable. The housing is pre-lubed with silicone grease for smooth, stick-free shifting, and the polymer coating on the cable allows it run even more smoothly. Even the end caps are sealed, which prevents dirt and grime from sneaking in and gunking up the system.

Not to bad, I like it but the wire is too short, you could add a couple of inches more( maybe 6”). I did install this on a beach cruiser with Shimano gears, so it might be different for other type of bikes.

Slick cables. I'd love to give them a great review but they weren't long enough for my recumbent trike. If you are running a classic shaped road bike.. go for it. If something longer or having the front crank way out in front of you, look elsewhere for longer cables/housing.

I had older shifters and derailleurs and shimano doesn’t recommend these polymer coated cable sets for those because the clamp isn’t knurled like the new ones and may allow the cable to slip. I cut a small piece of 220 grit sandpaper and easily removed the coating where the clamp is and have had no problems with it slipping. Shifts like a dream now. I did also have to shoot some oil in the shifters to free up the hardened original grease that was also preventing smooth shifting. I used ballistol. After doing that these things shift like brand new. I did the brake cables at the same time. I had to buy a few 4mm Id ferrules for the shifter side ends because the ones in this kit have a notch for the newer shifters and wouldn’t have fit properly.

Great shift cable. I have never tried Jagwire - maybe next time, if these EVER wear out. The poly coating is great and the shifting is smooth.

Building my bike back up from scratch after a new paint job. Needed new brake and shifter cables. Went with Dura-Ace for their high quality and performance reputation and their wires did not disappoint. Slick low friction makes for smooth precise shifting. Only gripe would be the exposed wires look fuzzy due to outer coating.

These were installed on my 2013 Trek Madone with a Shimano 5700 Drivetrain. The difference shifting and the lightness in lever pull is pretty amazing. High quality cables and housing in every way. Expensive, but well worth it!

I originally used this cable set on a 2015 Domane 4.3c with 105 5800 shifters. They worked excellently on that bike so I purchased them again. The second bike I put them on is a 2011 Madone 6.2 with Ultegra 6700 shifters. I can not overstate the difference these cables have made in shift feel and performance. The 6700 shifters were originally very stiff, much stiffer than my newer 5800 set. Now the shifting is much smoother than it used to be and has a lighter pull. If you are having any issues with stiff shifting, especially on the 5700/6700 series I would highly recommend these.

Fantastic, completely fixes any shifting issues you may have with older Shimano SIS systems (e.g. Ultegra 6700, DA 7900, etc.). Far superior to the PTFE cables that came with the older Shimano. Buy the full housing and cable set here the first time, as while the housings are the same as the old Shimano shift housings, the kit comes with the full set of end caps for better operation, plus a small guide you insert into the rear derailleur barrel adjuster, that lower friction where the cable passes through. You may have to slightly bore or drill out the older Shimano barrel adjusters to get the insert to fit snugly but not too tightly.
