18t cog, quiet, spins easily and easy to install. Replaces a 17t cog, 18t easier starts on my older legs, but one lose top speed. With my 48T front sprocket, I do notice the 0.7 mph loss in speed or I have to turn more RPMs to keep a 15 mph pace. I recommend this Shimano single-speed freewheel.

This threaded right on my freewheel hub with zero issues, fits 3/32" chain perfectly, solid engagement with every stroke of the pedals... I'd never guess this wasn't factory equipment on this bike. It certainly made converting an old 1973 Schwinn 10spd into a single-speed much simpler.

Coasts buttery smoothly and quietly.Pedaling, not so much. It makes a clicking sound depending on where I start pedaling (but once I lock in, the pattern is consistent with the tire rotation). I have read elsewhere that this is just about getting unlucky with the one I got. If you want to make sure that it won't happen to you, best to step up to a White Industries freewheel.

Best bang-per-buck that I have found for a single speed freewheel. Very smooth and decently quiet operation, and the clean threading makes it easy to install (and is self-tightening like any freewheel) or remove if you have the proper tool.

Installed on my 2015 Fuji Track yesterday that sports a 16T fixed cog. Purchased the 18T single speed freewheel because my commute is a little hilly and it's made it more efficient to climb hills. It's quiet and does the job without any problems or kinks. Converting my fixie to a single speed has done wonders during rush hour traffic and it's made getting on and off my bike much easier and given me the ability to freely cruise! Would definitely recommend a freewheel if you do a lot of city biking. Please note that if you purchase from a 3rd party seller you may or may not receive the box. Mine did not come with the retail box and when I contacted customer service they stated they bought it in bulk, therefore box was not provided.

Have not ridden it yet so take this review for what it's worth... Looks/feels sturdy and well-made. Spins smoothly and very quietly (backwards). No 'play' in it's rotation, laterally. Good straight & true spin. Arrived pre-lubed a bit. Threaded on to hub by hand, easily and perfectly. Feels solid/heavy, in a good way. Actual weight of mine is 6.5 oz. Will be 5 stars if it performs as well as it has in the eye/hand-tests.

I used this freewheel on my mountain bike and it performed flawlessly. Quiet and smooth with little to no wobble. If you have a thread on rear hub like most older mountain bikes, this is the freewheel you want. I got the 18t gear matched with 34t front chain ring and its a perfect set up for me. Highly recommend. Don't scrap the old mountain bike, turn it into a single speed and get out on the trails again.
