G FREE BODY
G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
X-SHIP
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.
HAGANE BODY
The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
CROSS CARBON DRAG
This drag material provides a wider range of drag settings, along with the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.
S A-RB
These bearings have been through the same process as our A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing's rotation.
HAGANE GEAR
With amazing strength and durability, the HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of the reel. Shimano, through the application of state-of-the-art technologies, gives you the long-lasting smoothness and pleasure that you feel when you first use a reel, over and over again. MICRO MODULE GEAR II
State-of-the-art, gear tooth surface design and MicroModule Gear II, are further advanced through Shimano's exclusive manufacturing technology. The surfaces of the drive gear and pinion gear have been analyzed and updated from the ground up in pursuit of perfection.
X-PROTECT
By combining our water repellent coating and our specially designed, water channeling, labyrinth construction, X Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation.

I love using tools that are smooth and work well. This is it. It just feels great in your hands and everything works perfectly. I use 10lb braid on it and mostly fish bass and pike.

Delivery was fast. UPS was slow. Statue said delivery was going to be another week, even though the reel was at the UPS facility 20 miles from my house. The reel was delivered the next day. Packing was good.

The Stradic reel came in a bag, the box inside the bag was damaged as you can see in the picture. Part of the reel was sticking out. But when I opened it up, the reel was t damaged and works just fine. Its already reeled in sheepshead and mangrove.

Just received mine. Shipping was really fast.Everything works great.Compared to the equal size Penn Battle IV, this thing feel like it is half the weight. The drag sound is more on the quiet side which I like. It spins like there is no gravity. Really smooth. What an alien technology. Well worth the money!

The Stradic FL is the best 'in-between' spinning reel for the money. Enough bells and whistles for the average fisherman to pros. Mine is specifically for river salmon, targeting chinook, coho, and steelhead.

I upgraded from the Nordic. It's a heavy duty reel. Its not the lightest reel out there, but i have no problem chucking lures with it all day. I've used it a bunch of times now. It's super smooth, with a great drag.

I already had a Stradic Reel which has never let me down. This new Stradic FL is just an amazing reel. So light, smooth and tough. It looks amazing too. It oozes with craftmanship.I genuinely cannot fault it. Easy casting. Fantastic handling. So smooth. It is a keeper and I would highly recommend it.When I started out fishing about 5 years ago I got 4 reels in a row that were recommended to me by local retailers. All were cheap and all were rubbish. When I decided to invest in the Shimanos it made me realise how much money I had wasted. It is worth spending more if you are serious about fishing. Class reels.

This new updated Stradic is the smoothest version Shimano has made so far. Stradics have always been a work horse reel for me and this new version is very solid and should hold up well fishing in saltwater. I for one am glad that Shimano has removed the anti-reverse lever on this new reel. I fish for speedy fish like Bluefin Trevally and Bonefish here in Hawaii and have never had use for the anti-reverse function on spinning reels. Removal of the anti-reverse lever makes this reel a little more water tight so I really like the change. However, this Stradic is not totally water proof. If it gets submerged is will leak. It does hold up really well getting splashed by surf while fishing in the break though. I noticed there's no longer an oil service port screw on the side plating. If you want to oil this reel up you need to take it apart. Be prepared to get yourself a set of micro torx, small phillips, and torx drivers to take it apart. So far so good. This reel has performed great and should see a lot of good years of action like my older model Stradics.
