I have purchased lots of fans over the past several years, all of differing types and sizes. But this pedestal fan by Shinic is far and away the worst one of the lot.Where do I begin?The plastic used throughout the device is cheap, flimsy and of the lowest quality imaginable.The plastic nut/hub/cap used to secure the rear guard didn't align properly or easily. It took me twenty minutes to secure the cap and I only succeeded in doing so through brute force. And sheer determination.The plastic on the blade itself isn't firm. It has the consistency of a grocery bag, NOT the firmness of a rotary blade intended to circulate air.The buttons used to set the speed of the fan are unbelievably flimsy. I wonder just how long they will work.The maximum height of this fan was supposed to be 54". That is wrong -- it barely reaches 50" and only does so after you pull really hard on the extension pole.To sum it all up: Do NOT buy this fan. Spend your $50 on a Lasko or a Black & Decker or a fan made by a reputable manufacturer. (I have had fans made by Lasko that have lasted 10 years or more. I only bought this one made by Shinic because I needed a pedestal fan of a certain size and color, and I couldn't find a Lasko to fit my needs. A big mistake. Please don't make the same mistake that I did.)

I bought this fan as I bought a tower fan earlier but I like this better as it works better. The quality, speed and size is just perfect for my room. It makes less noise and its also light weight but works perfect.
