Even at the closest setting, the riffle still wobbled

I had been entertaining the idea of a saddle clamp for my rifle tripod for a while, but I wasn't sure if I could deploy the tripod and have the rifle clamped in a quick manner. When I had the chance to grab this one, I jumped on it and haven't looked back. The lockdown knob is easy to use even with gloves on and holds the rifle with a firm grip better than the yoke rest I was originally using. It hold the rifle firmly enough to only need to seat the rifle into my shoulder without holding down the rifle with my other hand. My .308 does rock the tripod a little bit, but a firm purchase on the rifle limits most of that. The machining of the clamp is very smooth, almost buttery when using the knob so checking it from time to time to make sure it hasn't backed off any is a must. Overall, I like this saddle clamp and have been using it recently on a coyote hunt and at the range with great success.

I use a BOG Deathgrip as my primary tripod, so I was initially a little put off by the smaller size of this clamp. It turns out that I didn't need to worry. The BOG clamp is plastic, this one is solid aluminum, which more than makes up for its smaller size. It has no problem solidly holding a rifle hands free. The padding has a good grip but also provides enough cushioning that I don't have to worry about marking up my stock. The adjustment knob has a good feel, and the clamp overall has a wide enough range to handle anything I want to use it with. I picked it up as a backup clamp that I can use with a couple other tripods, and it easily fits both of those other tripods, one of which is Arca, the other threads onto the center of the clamp. For as good as the clamp is, the documentation falls short. No mention of the adapter for the center hole that allows you to use either a 3/8" or 1/4" tripod mount, or of the included tools (a key tab for tightening the adapter ring to use 1/4" tripod, or the Allen wrench to take out the ARCA screws when you're mounting via the center threads.More confusing are the "matters needing attention" on the back of the instructions" (pic attached)"rough operation prohibited" - I wonder what caliber might be consider "rough""Do not use at the temperature below. Above minus 15 degrees or above 70 degrees". This is verbatim from line 3, I don't even know what to make of the lower end temp, and have to wonder if they're operating in C or F."Do not leave product in the sun for long periods of time" - not sure what will happen, but whether or not it's sunny when I'm out hunting is beyond my control.Regardless of the instructions falling short, its a great little rifle clamp. Glad I picked it up.

I've recently had the opportunity to test out The Shooting Saddle Clamp Tripod Rifle Clamp Arca Swiss Rifle Saddle Mount, and I'm impressed with its performance. This universal rest head clamp, designed for rifles, crossbows, and other firearms, has proven to be a valuable tool for both sighting-in and hunting scenarios.• Enhanced Stability: The primary benefit of this clamp is undoubtedly the significant improvement in firearm stability. When sighting-in my rifle, the secure hold provided by the saddle clamp made a world of difference. It eliminated inconsistencies from unsteady hands and allowed for precise adjustments, ultimately leading to a more accurate zero.• Versatile Application: While initially used for sighting, I've also found it to be highly beneficial when coyote hunting. Paired with a tripod, this clamp allowed me to quickly and securely position my rifle for a steady shot, even in less-than-ideal terrain. The quick-release plates and Arca Swiss compatibility make transitions fast and seamless.• Robust Construction: The clamp feels solidly built and capable of handling the weight and recoil of a variety of firearms. This gives me confidence in its durability, knowing it can withstand the rigors of both range use and field conditions. It inspires confidence that it will hold steady.• User-Friendly Design: The quick-release mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate, allowing for swift mounting and dismounting of the rifle. The universal design means it's compatible with a wide range of firearms, making it a versatile addition to any shooter's gear.Overall Impression:The Shooting Saddle Clamp Tripod Rifle Clamp has exceeded my expectations. It's quickly become an indispensable part of my hunting equipment, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their accuracy and shooting experience.• Size and Weight: Depending on the tripod you're using, this may add some bulk to your equipment. While not excessive, it's worth considering if you are concerned about portability.• Price: While the quality is good, it’s important to consider the cost against your needs and budget. In summary, this rifle clamp is a solid performer that delivers on its promises of enhanced stability and versatility. It's a valuable tool for any serious shooter or hunter.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this but was pleasantly surprised when I took it out of the package. Very well made, pretty precise and smooth action on the clamp, and overall just really nice. My tripod is with a buddy at the moment so I can't try it out, but will give it a workout shortly and will update this review after I get a chance to use it.The reason for four starts is that I do wish that the padding on the inside of the clamp was a bit thicker, and the fact that this thing is so well built is also a bit of a downside as it's fairly heavy.
