This classic knob replaces Posi-Temp #100710 single-handle tub and shower handle. This universal Posi-Temp shower handle knob did NOT fit shower handles with wider base. If you have an older shower installed before 1990, please search for Part 96797 or "old Moentrol shower handle".

The handle fitting is slightly larger than the OEM handle fitting on the valve. It will have to be retightened periodically

The knob looks good, but it doesn't fit quite right. When installing it on the valve, the knob does not fit snug and can be rotated a little. I will try to make a shim to tighten it a little. The bigger problem is the long screw. The screw stops in the valve before it is tight. This can be fixed with a washer. The old handle screw is a little shorter so it works better, but there is still a little movement in and out. This tells me that the plastic is not as thick as the old one. Again, stacking a washer or two should fix this issue.
