I’ve got loads of CAPOs including old and new G7th models and this one beats them all. Super reliable, never buzzes (unlike the new G7th) and really well made and easy to use

This capo came highly recommended everywhere I read capo reviews. They were right. So far I've used this capo on my Taylor acoustic 224 and on my Fender Strat and it works great. The capo is easy to use once you understand how to adjust it. You can get it on and off the guitar pretty quickly, but not as quickly as a spring capo. (If I were performing live, I probably would opt for a spring one, just for quick changes.) The capo stays put and puts equal pressure on all 6 strings. It's lightweight, but a quality piece of equipment and looks nice.

I've had a Shubb capo before, and this is exactly the same... High quality, easy to use, well built. I use this Shubb Capo on a Classical Acoustic guitar with Nylon strings. It is wide enough to cover the 6 strings with about an eighth inch of capo beyond the two outside strings. Adjustable... works great. Will definitely buy again. Highly recommend this for anyone! (I really enjoy writing positive reviews over negative ones!)

Shubb brings new joy to working with capos. The bulkiness of Kyser, which I LOVED for the maneuvarability, is irritating, and I didn't notice it until I tried the Shubb. The Kyser gets in the way, both visually and, slightly but importantly, physically. The Shubb is so low key, you do NOT feel intimidated to put fingers whereever you want, as close to fret zero (i.e. the knuckle or what have you), because the schubb will not interfere. It's close to a dream. In fact, if using the Shubb for drop low E (i.e., put shubb all the way across the highest 5 strings), can even fret the low E string at the 2nd fret i.e. play what looks like a e minor chord (it's an F# minor of course), and fret the root at 2nd fret. Love it. You have to descend index finger straight down, but hey, it's doable and that's all I care about. I haven't really tried using the thumb, doubt it's work.Any way, great capo, and dialing in the tension, AND the ability to put capo on strings first, and THEN clip the clamp to not bend strings accidentally is so nice.Am not worried that this is a two-handed capo to put on. Not a big deal. Doesn't slow me down.I actually put my kyser away five minutes in, much as I liked it; the shubb is uber professional i.e. glitch free.Shubb for the win, you deserve to at least try it, I say you'll never look back.

I’ve been playing guitar for many years and I have used many capos. This is definitely the best. I’ve used Kyser, Dunlop, Planet Waves, G7th, and other lesser known brands. This Shubb works really well. No more out of tune like so many of the others. I love the adjustable tension which is so key to staying in tune. Many of them have a set spring tension which you cannot control which ends up knocking the tuning out. With this one you can adjust it exactly where it needs to be for the right tension. No, you can’t store on the headstock but it’s so small that it’s no problem to just stick it in your pocket. If you do need to slide it to a different fret that is easily done with one hand. I will say that I’ve been very happy with my G7th too but I would have to give the edge to the Shubb from a price standpoint. It is about half the price of the G7th and I honestly like the feel of it a bit better.

This is the best design for a capo I've ever seen.I use heavy gauge strings on my guitar and it is mandatory for me to adjust the pressure of the capo to prevent the tuning from going off or the strings from rattling. It is very easy to use.I have handled the S1 model (this one) and the C1 model (nickel plated) and I have to say: although the C1 is made in China, it feels better quality. They both function the same way and will most likely last a lifetime (especially with the replacement rubber pads), but the fit and finish is better on the C1 model. The screw mechanism is smoother and the rivets don't make noise when you open and close. It is also better contoured and shinier.Surprising, as it is cheaper and made in China. The difference is not that big, and the S1 is still worth every penny. If you feel like "buying American", get this one. Otherwise, I'd go with the C1.

I have lots of capos of different kinds, including some Eliot capos which sell for >$100.But Shubb make the best all-around capo. Beautiful design, completely open on one side so it doesn't interfere with the fretting hand as many capos do.- Easy to use- Indestructible- Adjustable clamping force to a pure tone- Small and unobtrusive- Reasonably priced so you can buy extras- Won't damage guitar neck- Can be used in some locations as a partial (5-string) capo. For example, put it on at the 4th fret from the treble side covering 5 string and play in C-shape, you're really in E with an especially low bass note.- You can use two capos, one from each side, for tunings which look like "Drop-D" but are higher up the neck.I can't be stored on the headstock like a spring capo (Kyser, etc,), and maybe takes a few seconds longer to install, but is smaller and more versatile in all other respects. If your guitar has a particularly wide neck (>1-3/4" at the nut), you might prefer the Shubb Deluxe 12-String capo, which is the same thing only wider."Deluxe" means it has a roller on the cam. The non-deluxe model costs a few dollars less but works just as well, save for slightly more force required to put it on. I prefer the deluxe versions but only slightly, and mostly on aesthetic grounds, the function is just about identical.

The capo I had been using was always too bulky. I play exclusively fingerstyle and its design was cramping my space. So I read some reviews and started asking people which capo they used and liked. The Shubb Deluxe is what kept rising to the top. So I spent, what, $30? A drop in the bucket compared to one capo out there that runs nearly $200! And, unlike my other capo, the Shubb doesn't cramp my space. I especially like the adjustable tension knob so I can adjust it for what 's needed instead of the "one tension fits all" attitude of most other capos. It's built quite well, simple in design and nice looking. Works very well.I gave it 4 stars because I believe everything can be improved. Nothing is perfect. The $200 capo I mentioned above has an excellent feature: It can sit harmlessly out of the way just above the nut on the guitar head. If the Shubb could do that, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. But stars are meaningless. What's meaningful is that I am quite pleased with the Shubb Deluxe capo and use it frequently.Bill
