The spring used to secure the point is not secure enough to be sure it won't pop off. I'd be afraid to have that accidentally exposed on board my boat and laying on the deck.I returned it for this reason.That's too bad. Otherwise it looks like a solid and secure gaff.

Good quality but it is a lighter duty gaff due to the way it connect to handle. Therefore, this gaff should be SMALLER because you shouldn’t be using it for fish over 30lbs anyway. Smaller hook would be making gaffing these fish under 30lbs much easier. Please make a 2 or 3” version

We have started jugging for catfish. I cant wait to try this. the old hook we had was heavy and hard to use. looking forward to a light weight hook.

This high quality gaff is very sharp and appears sturdy; however, a design defect lets the spring tip-protector slip off as it rides up the base of the gaff.
