After hiring an unethical 2k$, HVAC installation, I needed to replace the tape they stole with this stuff. Goal is to cover the foam line set insulation to protect it from uv light. Without this tape, that insulation breaks down within a year. Moral, "Do it yourself, and it's done right!" Re-roll some of it on a narrow core such as a pencil. That way it can be unrolled/applied in tight and narrow spaces. PS: Arthritis won't help any.

This tape stuck on fairly well to itself. But there is no flex, it is very brittle. It tore fairly easily and did not mold all that great. And the company logo is printed end to end. So in that regard, it looks crappy. I'll probably buy someone else's tape and go over the top, just so I don't see SHURTAPE repeated over and over along the line set.

It may be too soon to tell, as I only did this install a few weeks ago. While this tape says ‘UV resistant’ , I’m not that impressed w/ the adhesive. Typically the A/C lines you’re insulating are outdoors and in the sun much of the time. After just a few weeks in the sun, this tape seems to be curling up at the edges and corners, so I’ll have to monitor for a season and see if it stays put, or needs replacing.

Over all a great tape but as the title states could be a bit stickier then it is.

Creates a nice air tight seal, great adhesive quality. It’s also more aesthetically pleasing than silver aluminum tape.

It was used to secure the worn-out insulation parts for the AC tubes. Now I have what looks like a new in installation.

I used this to secure a foam insulation tube (much like a pool noodle) around an HVAC pipe. At first, I thought I could be stingy and run it lengthwise along the seam. Wow, that did not work at all. The tape refused to adhere to the foam. I decided to use the age-old wrapping technique, and that worked like a charm (so far). It took forever to wrap it around the length of two 5' tubes, but I'm pretty sure it'll hold throughout the winter and well into the spring. The material is a bit thinner than I expected, and it will tear easily if punctured (no embedded fiber, so not like duct tape at all). However, if it holds the foam and doesn't crack/fall apart from UV exposure, I will be a happy camper.

This tape appears to be as advertised. I used to completely wrap all my exposed line set insulated lines. Only time will tell. One roll is more than enough. It's too bad this is not offered in a 15'-0" or 25'-0" roll, for home owners. I have 98% of a roll left over.
