I saw great reviews so I decided to give it a try.My main purpose for this filter was to stop using sponge filters for my quarantine tank. Sponge filters are great but they can be messy . I can easily place the filter media inside of my main hang on back filter when not in use and have them seeded with beneficial bacteria when I need to set the tank up for adding new fish etc. the motor is dead silent. Great flow and surface agitation when using the spray bar function. Adjustable flow. I am using this on a 10 gallon tank. i currently use Sicce Tidal filters on all of my tanks.. This is a Great product. Last tip if you purchase this filter you can remove the carbon sponge media which is located in the bottom tray and use a little poly fill to polish the water and trap more detritus . I give it 5 stars

Unlike the larger Shark Pros, the filter cartridges do not hold on to the impeller unit very well. Easy to accidentally dislodge when cleaning the tank, etc.; and once that happens, your fish will be in danger from the exposed impeller. This happened to my betta Sunny, and unfortunately he died with his tail caught in the impeller. I was not aware of this problem, and didn’t notice the bottom cartridge lying on the gravel.

Bought the 250 version for my 6 gallon Topfin Corner tank, which has a flat lid with only 2 small open holes (there's a third but it itself has a cover), so is limiting in kind of filter it can take and where and how its positioned.I got this after hearing about it on KGTropicals' YouTube channel, and replaced my tank's noisy, splashy sponge filter with it. IMMEDIATE silence - my fish were confused by the sudden lack of sound and suddenly having a directional flow! XD And I am quite happy with the ease of removing and cleaning the filter without dumping muck back into the tank. I did have concerns about enough oxygen getting through the small holes into my lidded Topfin Corner tank without the excessive surface agitation the sponge filter provided, but after adding a longer airtube to the venturi so that it was clear of the lid the oxygen has been just fine. One thing I should mention, particularly for the planted tank enthusiasts out there - it comes with two small square plain sponges and a larger H-shaped carbon sponge. If, like me, you want the biggest sponge to be plain and no carbon, you have to buy the extension cartridge as it isn't available separate from that, at least not yet. And the extension cartridge has a flow-through so it cannot be used in place of the bottom cartridge (I'd hoped they would be swappable).Or of course you just could cut your own sponge bits and stuff them in, which I did while waiting for the extension - I just didn't have stiff enough sponge material for the long term.Overall, awesome little filter, I love it!

I couldn't take the noise from the other "silent" options. I've purchased two of these units for seperate tanks and they're a dream. They circulate water well, with several options for attachments. And it's truly SILENT! No vibration noise, nothing. Heaven.

I like this filter. But I can't really justify the added price for what it's actually giving to you in terms of added value. It's pretty slick, but these days, you can find better priced filters that have the same or more GPH and added features like a spray bar. I do like the magnetic attachment. It makes things slightly easier to clean, and the device doesn't move around as much as suction cups. And most filters nowadays allow for easy customization of the interior filter materials... so this really isn't an added feature but a standard one.For a small betta tank, keep in mind that this thing still provides a lot of current. I'd still recommend a cheaper sponge filter if you're doing a small betta tank, regardless.

When I first started this up it made a terrible screeching noise like other reviewers noted. But after a little tinkering it's working really well in my 16g betta tank.

I bought this one and the larger 320 version for my fish room which doubles as my office. I have long been on a search for something that is quieter than HOB's, Sponge filters with air pump, etc. I saw a couple video reviews online and they mentioned these were quiet. I am not sure they did that justice. I have 5 of them running in my room and I can't hear these things at all. Sometimes I feel like I hear a faint hum, but seriously they are a miracle compared to the loud air pumps. These things move some serious water as well. For my smaller tanks I do have to put it on the lowest setting to reduce flow. I have heavily planted tanks so that helps, but I could see that it may not be the best for something like a beta in a sparse aquarium. This is the best purchase I have made for my aquariums so far and that isn't exaggerating. The fact that they also offer a 5 year warranty is the icing on the cake. Nice job, Sicce.

Works great In my 10 gallon tank. Easy to install with the magnet. Flow rate is adjustable and easy to do. Very quiet and definitely quality built.Great value for the money. The tank is very clean and my aquatic friends really enjoy the spray bar.I would definitely recommend the Sicce Shark 250.
