Solid piece to help repair my Skeg after we had found some “hard water” during the last trip out. Fitment was a little off but made a few small modifications and seemed to work well. I’ve used a lot of panther products in the past and they’ve never disappointed

Good quality P.S. Give it a little cleanup on the inside edge with a metal file as it is a little sharp. It will scrape the paint as you mallet it up. Clean appearance and looks like performance accessories to you engine/drive. I also drilled a second drain hole 3/16” at the bottom front. Taking the boat out the water with the engine up, a good amount of water would stay inside that may cause some corrosion with time. Use a center punch to avoid the drill bit to run away during the drilling process. Please people… I keep answering “will it fit my motor? “ Go to Safe-Skeg site. Open the PDF file and find your specific year model and size to get your specific Part Number. Then go back to Amazon and double check.

After nasty accident with underwater rock there wasn't much left from my 2000 Johnson 115 skeg.Safe-Skeg was a quick and cost-effective way to bring the boat back to water.

Original skeg was bent so bad it took constant pressure to run in a straight line. Let go and make an instant leftturn! Don't know how you can bend aluminum that far without snapping it off. Anyway, had to cut all but 4 inches of it off or buy a whole lower case. This was the answer. Easy to install and the boat now tracks "no hands" straight.Stainless durability speaks for itself. Like any skeg, avoid rocks, boat ramps, skis and trees etc.

Nice product and helped the handling on my outboard tremendously. I have a 76 mercury 1150 115hp outboard and this fit perfect I don’t think they label this for the outboards just the I/O units but the lower unit on both must be pretty much identical because this fit my outboard perfectly and Looks classy to and super easy to install. The reason I got the panther was because they were the only ones that had dimensions available so I could double check that it would fit and seemed like an expensive gamble to take with out anything to back it up

Haven't actually put it in the water yet but the installation was a breeze with all the right tools. Directions are clear and well put together. Seems like it's pretty durable with a nice chrome finish.

These fin "sleeves" are all a repair part. None will be as good as the OEM cast fin... But this one is pretty good. Slip it over you old stub of a broken fin/skeg and drill the mounting holes. Rough up your old stub and slap some JB-Weld on both sides, slip this on and bolt it down. It'll stay and it'll get some of your slow speed steering back, help with tracking, etc. What else do you want?Only other fix is a welding shop and new metal ...

It did not fit my application like stated. It also chipped and scratched the paint. No alternative than to return for a refund.
