This is a simple device but it has to face the right direction to work. Whoever assembled the one I got had pinned the device in the wrong orientation on the bracket. It will not just swing through because it bears against the base when the boat moves. Thankfully I have a set of punches and it was easy enough to drive the pin out. The side benefit is that this allowed me to drive the pin off the old, broken one and install this one. Note that the pin is a bit fatter on one side (the left side when viewed from the rear of the boat) so drive it out from the right.

Product was a universal fit and fit perfectly in the factory holes on my 84 bayliner carpi. Product is crisp white and fits my factory rubber hose. Would recommend to anyone that needs a new speedometer that is universal

Used for first time last week in saltwater bay. Compared to GPS Sonar unit speed and very close to same reading. Good mounting instructions included with all necessary hardware for installation.

Speedometer went out on my Yamaha LS2000. Looked for a replacement underwater thingy since mine looked a little discolored and rough. Super easy to install and fixed the speedometer.I would but one of these again if I needed to.To install, remove old (I'll call it a sending unit) SU and clean hull surface. Unhook tube from speedo in dashboard and blow through tube to remove any blockages. Reinstall tube onto speedo.Use adhesive caulking rated for underwater and install the screws to mount new SU.Hook the tube onto the new SU.Easy to do.

Perfect fit for a standard sized pitot. Works as described ~ speed is accurately represented by the pitot and mounting did not require any modifications.
