I play lots of instruments. I'm just getting back into trumpet after many, many years and my mouthpieces were not in great shape. I was using an old 7C for a bit, but I much prefer this 5C mouthpiece. I wasn't expecting much, but it's comfortable and seems extremely well made. Much easier for me to play on than my 7C, although if you're just starting out, go for the 7C.

One thing you can always get for a trumpet player (student or casual) is another mouthpiece. This silver gem is appropriately priced, has a nice heft to it, and can toot to your satisfaction. The quality is good, so feel confident when purchasing it that your trumpeter will make joyful noises with it fully inserted into the instrument. Comes with a draw string bag for transporting, keeping it safe in your accessories box in your case.

Historically, I do not really like 7Cs - I figured that it'd give one a shot again as it had been years since I've used one. I was very, very impressed with the relatively effortless power and volume that I was able to get out of this mouthpiece, especially in the lower/middle register - it feels unlike the 7Cs I've used in the past (in a good way). I have not had the product long enough to see how it is going to wear/stand up to usage, but I have a good feeling that I am going to be impressed with this product moving forward. I'm interested in trying some of their other mouthpieces now - strong work!

I just started playing the trumpet last year and all I've ever used is a 7C mouthpiece. I was curious about using a 5C and I'm so glad I tried it. It's very well made and is now my favorite. The notes sound more stable and it's easier to hit the high ones. That the gold plating on the DANCHET mouth is so beautiful and well done is just an added bonus. A very smooth finish. it also comes with a nice, cleaning brush. I have a feeling I'll be buying a second one when my 10 year old grand daughter, another first year trumpet player, tries it. I know I won't be going back to my old mouth piece.

The size feels correct when played next to a big name 3C, but the rim is a little more round than I'm used to. If you like a softer rim, though, this feels like it would be a good piece to have on hand. It does feel a little heavy, and I personally feel like it doesn't resonate as well, but that could just be a gap distance issue, and I'll need to try it on a few more horns to be able to tell if it's in my head or not.I'll be curious as to how long the plating lasts, and if it seems like it wears away sooner than expected, I'll be back with an update!
