I have recently learned that YouTube has good free cape videos and I didn’t need a pattern

I have bought this particular pattern a few times ocer the years and it never disappoints. The ability to mix and match hood and drape fashions are fantastic.

I made one for my boyfriend and myself for a chilly Ren Faire and they came out beautifully. Added fur around the hood which upped the cozy factor. Uses a lot of fabric. Totally fine for both men's and women's.

Really awesome and surprisingly simple pattern. I followed the pattern to make one for myself. The lining is inverted too. I was able to make a matching werewolf cloak for my son with no pattern, just remembering what the original taught me. It's intense, but when it clicks you'll be making cloaks in your sleep.

You might want to consider pockets or slits for sleeves as it’s being constructed. Very happy with the way it sits on the shoulder giving it definition and shape over simple circular designs. I only added one caplet due to the weight of my material and am still well pleased.

Love this pattern! It was my first time sewing in over six years (and before then I had only made a couple of items). I modified the pattern a bit by leaving out the lining so my cape could be more cost effective and I have NO PROBLEMS following this pattern. In fact it was my first time even using a pattern. There were a few things that were confusing that I didn't understand due to lack of experience but if you take your time and read the directions and look at the images you can figure it out. I even used different fabric than was suggested. They suggested velvet and satin but I used a ponte knit. I will definitely use this product in the future for another cape (maybe try some of the fabrics as suggested). If you use this for Raven (from Teen Titans) please note that the hood is very much like "Little Red Riding Hood" as you can see pictured. It wasn't my desired shape but I was afraid to alter the hood. It may be a good idea to use interfacing for the hood if you don't use a stiffer fabric or to alter the hood shape if you use this for Raven so that it is a big less baggy/more accurate to the show.

I am a cosplayer who usually does not use patterns because quite frankly they always looked confusing to me. That said, I am making a Lady Death cape where the fabric was over $200 so it was critical that I didn't mess it up. I bought this pattern as it looked fairly simple. IT WAS! I so far have only made the main cape, and it is unlined, but it was incredibly easy to do and it looks so beautiful and luxurious. It was very easy to understand and work with, definitely highly recommend!
