The module could use a dip switch for a spark delay on start up to help prevent kick back on restart.

My 25year old ignition gave up the ghost. Easy install, no directions in box. Dusted off the manual and internet got it wired right. Easy starting smoother ideal. I’m very happy again and the bike runs like new.

I was replacing a Crane HI4 single fire ignition and coil that was starting to cut out when getting heated. I needed an ignition that had a better retarted power curve due to running high compression pistons and upgraded Andrews cams & lifters. #4 power curve fit the bill! It totally eliminated the pinging from excessive early advance. I can now get away with running 90 octane! The bike dialed right in and never ran better.1997xlh1200s

Thought the reviews I read were a bit tall (better gas mileage, more power, and less vibration), but all claims proved true. I used this unit to replace a Crane Hi4 which failed. I have a Special Construction with a 98 EVO (mild cam, Mikuni, Vance and Hines). My bike would take forever to start and had a nasty vibration in my cruising range (65-85 mph). It starts so fast now that I don't even hear the starter engage and vibration was cut at least 80% in my cruising range. Bike is finally running as I hoped. Easy to install and set static timing. Truly this unit "cured" my bikes bad behavior. Highly recommend.

This ignition was installed on a 1986 Evo 883 Sportster (the first Evo). It is a hardyail bobber now. The bike has never run right. Always missing and backfiring. Contributes it to a bad carb until the spark totally went out. I shopped around for OEM parts and also looked at several aftermarket. Settled on this one for price. It was easy to install. It didn’t start up initially. (My fault. Got the spark plug wires reversed.). After that it fired up nicely. I set the idle and took it for a ride. Man, what a difference. Way more power and throttle response Curve 1 is he only one I tried.

After only 38 years, the stock ignition module in my 88 ci Shovelhead had failed. The Ultima provided the fairly simple ignition features I wanted at the best price. Delivery was prompt. The new module & coil were installed and ready to go in about 15 minutes. Used static timing as specified - easy, took another 10 minutes. The ignition is set up in single-fire mode using the 1st timing curve w/ VOES unconnected. The bike started right up and ran great from the start. The engine had ran strong with the old stock module; and so far, after about 100 miles with the Ultima module and coil, it's starting and running as good if not better. Static timing an Ultima apparently works pretty well. In fact, my bike is running so well, I still haven't bothered to check the timing dynamically or try any other timing curves.

Worked perfect, could use 90 degree boots for coil ends on my 84 FLHTC. I would like to set mine for no spark for one rev.while cranking
