I watched a YouTube video on removing the center piece, it said knock it out with a hammer, the center piece will not fall into the waste pipe,I found out the hard way that is not true. Knock it out partially and twist it out the rest of the way.

Worked good.After reading coments how tuff was to break knock out.I did it before installed. I used A wood chisle .Didn t make sence so went to company found utube video..Was easy trick was hit the flange that stcking up..They should put that on directions that come with it! other wise I would of gave it A 5 star,liked that it has A movable stainless ring..after glues in .I was able to line up.

Great stainless top, fit over a damaged plastic flange without a hitch, but the knock out seems like its part of the unit, it did not break off cleanly and had to spend time cleaning it up before putting it in.

I purchased this to do a fix in a toilet installation. I did that thing where I forgot to allow for the thickness of the finished floor when setting the toilet flange. Not enough give to just wrack the receiving end into place, so I very carefully, and with a lot of ZEN, pried the first flange off with relatively minimal damage to the 3" ABS. Then a slightly modified 3" coupling and the correct toilet flange - which I found elsewhere- and reassemble the whole thing at the correct height for the finished floor. This would NOT fit in the coupling, nor would it fit in the 3" pipe... not sure what it's supposed to fit, but it sure didn't work for what I needed.

I wont use this because the knock out center when knocked out will fall into the pipe. Outherwise knocking it out while not installed is pain . And then it is not a clean opening . I like the stainless steel outer ring , but that is where my liking stops
