I've been impressed by the quality and value of all of Skil's PwrCore 20V line that I've tried, and this is no exception. The models with brushed motors (like this drill) are less expensive, but still impressive tools that I'd expect to hold up fine for consumer or light-duty professional use, while the brushless versions could hold their own against the big names.This particular hammer drill is great for drilling small holes in concrete and masonry with SDS bits, but also works with ¼" hex bits and drivers. It's a compact and versatile tool that can outperform any hammer drill in masonry and still be used to drive the screw in afterwards. Pick up an SDS mounted chuck to work with regular bits and you can easily drill through wood and drywall as well. I used to work in IT, and I really would have liked to have had a tool like this that is as easy to carry around as any other cordless drill but wouldn't struggle at all to drill the occasional mounting hole in a brick wall.So this isn't a heavy-duty SDS rotary hammer for making ½"+ holes in concrete all day long, but it is a great tool for small holes in concrete and masonry that can comfortably pull double duty as a driver. If you could probably get by with a hammer drill and some patience, this will be an amazing improvement for you.

This is probably my 6th or 7th Skil power tool, and I couldn't be happier. I do a lot of IT & cabling for work, and bought this to drill holes through brick & concrete walls. It's very comfortable and easy to use, and makes quick work of what used to be a pain in the butt. My coworker borrowed it today to do some work where he didn't have power, and said that it puts his Makita to shame, and "hits at least 75% as hard" as his professional-grade Bosch corded drill.

Estaba buscando un rotomartillo inalambrico como segunda opción a mi rotomartillo de cable dewalt, pero las opciones eran muy costosas y salían un poco de mi presupuesto. Encontré este rotomartillo muy interesante y con cierta duda lo confieso lo compre sabiendo que skil no es una línea industrial como la mayoría de la herramienta que tengo, pero sabiendo que lo usaría como segunda opción a mi sds de cable. La verdad me sorprendí de la calidad y la fuerza que tiene esta cosa, de entrada se siente robusto y muy bien hecho, es más pesado de lo que pensé pero te acostumbras sin problema, viene con cargador rápido y una excelente batería que a mi me dura más que suficiente para el uso que le doy en mis trabajos de plomeria, herrería y electricidad . El único detalle que yo le encontré es que no tiene maletín o bolsa de transporte pero por el precio no se puede tener todo y lo entiendo, pero con una visita a home depot y un poco más de dinero esto se soluciona. Excelente inversión para mi trabajo.

El taladro se siente muy fragil y le dura poco la batería, al traer solo 1 el trabajo no puede ser continuo.

What prompted this purchase was our Hitachi corded hammer drill died out. It was a pistol grip type drill so it was easy store and handle.We have Bosch cordless drivers and drills and recip saw, but their 18V hammer drill was very expensive and looked rather bulky.Found this Skil by chance and figured to give it a try. I ordered an additional battery as well.We needed this only to drill for Tapcon screws with a 3/16" or setting plastic anchors using a 1/4" bit. For anything larger we use our corded Bosch rotary hammer. So this drill's purpose is light duty.I will say I'm impressed with the power and battery longevity so far. We set 100's of feet of form board on concrete surfaces and it performed well.I did purchase a storage/tool bag for the drill as none was provided or available. That would be my only small con. A hard case would work well for us for protection and ease of storage in vehicle shelves.I do highly recommend this drill. Being in the trade 35 years, I have seen tools come and go and can spot a quality item.
