This charger works great. I use it with a timer overnight to recover the charge that my stick-up camera uses during the day to extend my battery life. Although the Ring app does not recognize it as a direct wire it still works.

I used this on my indoor Ring camera, so I can't speak to whether it would work outside. It did extend the time that I would have to change batteries since I had to change my other 3 cameras multiple times and didn't change this at all.My cameras sit on surfaces (apartment living) so finding a place to plug it in was easy. I can update my review if anything changes, but so far, I'm satisfied. I might consider buying another one, but I think I'd rather go with a battery charger station since I don't have them all near plugs.

Initially when we got this, we were disappointed because we tried it on our older camera. The older cameras don't have the necessary input for this. But on the newer camera, it works just fine. It's quite nice to have such a long cord because that allows us flexibility in placement of the camera. We didn't need it, but it's nice to have it just in case we decide to move it. There's nothing really to explain with regards to using it because it's literally plug-n-play.

This cord fits my stick-up cam. The cam thinks it is a solar charger and will not switch to plugin mode. It still works but not what I need.

While Ring has a number of solutions to power their array of cameras, you usually will pay more for name-brand items.While it is often worth it to pay more, mature technology like power adapters does not always require that.This unit is designed to fit and charge the Ring Spot Cams, which charge via a round-shaped power port (unlike the USB-micro port which other Ring cameras and batteries us). So, since your numerious USB-micro cables don't fit this camera, you need an adapter like this.One of the main benefit of this adapter, besides charging your Spot Cam, is you can just leave in connected (if the location allows) and then it will keep your camera charged and operating, without ever having to take it offline to charge it -- much handier and more permanent.While this cord isn't especially long, you can use an extension cord to make up the length needed. The only drawback I noted is the adapter is not hardwired to the plug -- but has a USB-A plug that connects to the unit with the plug. I think this is not as secure as having it all be one unit as the connection between the USB plug and socket creates a potential failure point. Not sure I've ever seen this happen, but possible. To be fair, if you look at it the other way, if the plug/adapter itself fails, you could replace that with any 5V-1000 mA USB-A adapter and be up and running.So, good value, good fit, worked fine -- four stars.

I have multiple ring stick up battery camera installed. Constantly had to recharge the battery and if you enable all the features on the ring camera, it uses the battery faster. Found this power adapter which plugs into the back of the camera, and it immediately began charging the battery. Since I have installed this adapter, the battery is always at 100%. Enabled all the features as it was intended on the camera and no more worries. Everything you need is included in the box. (See picture) The cable is 16 feet long so will accommodate most applications and includes cable clips with nail to manage the cable. I use this indoors, but the cable is waterproof so will work for outdoor installations as long as your power plug is less than 16 feet from the camera.Highly recommended.
