I find this Quick Release Plate to be as good as the original. I bought it for a spare in case I lose the one that came with the tripod.

I have a light weight Silk Sprint tripod; it came with the matching Quick Release base and one plate; I attached it to my latest camera - a DSLR with a battery grip, a 17-50 F2.8 with anti-shake, etc.. out front, and a medium hot-shoe flash on top - altogether a substantial package not exactly balanced on the tripod screw - and I was so impressed by its performance and ease-of-use that I now have matching Silk QR bases on my other tripods and plates on cameras as well as flash units and a digital recorder. I've thought about putting one on a big flash bracket I use occasionally, so I never have to take a plate off... Not cheap, but they work... (If they were cheap I'd have gone for 5 stars!)

I found it difficult to find this product, so I was very happy when discovered at Amazon.com.It is sturdy, and does the job well.It does, however, scratch easily.I would recommend it.

I have a SILK tripod and needed a few spare quick releases. Don't have to write masses as I bought 3 off the same seller due to A) good product B) sellers service was simply great, speedy and a good price.
