It fit under a pipe that was right above the window well! Good quality

I have been buying, like everyone else the cheap plastic covers. This cover won’t be cracking and breaking anytime soon. It looks good and is doing a fantastic job keeping water out. If you want a quality product you only have to buy once, this is it.

I purchased 5 of these sloped covers to enclose some new basement wells I installed at my home as part of a remodel. I purchased stack-able, round, heavy-duty plastic window wells made by Shape Products through Home Depot (see photos). Some minor modification to the plastic wells was necessary to allow the metal clips on the covers to be attached to the wells, but it didn't take too long for that work. I also had to drill holes in the clear top of each well cover to install the clips in the correct location for my application. I doubt any installation will be possible without at least some tweaking being done, so just be prepared for this when you're ready to go. Each cover took me about 20 minutes to install.IMPORTANT DESIGN ISSUE FOR INSTALLERSAs you can see in the photos, the flat metal edge of the covers meets up with the siding on the house. The one problem I had with these covers is that the metal strip is angled slightly downward. The clear top of the cover attaches to this metal strip making the top slope down too so the water runs off away from the house. The issue this creates is that the metal won't sit flat against the house and a gap is left between the top of the metal strip and the house. As a result (as others have already pointed out), moisture can and will run down the siding and into the well unless the metal strip of the cover is installed in a way that, when in place, it's tucked under and flushed with the sheeting that is under siding rather than flat against the siding itself like I had to install it. For me, this ended up being a relatively minor issue since we don't get much rain here in Montana, but for rainy environments, this could be a real problem (see pictures). In order to fix this, one of two things would need to happen. One way is to cut the siding back around the metal strip to allow for the covers to tuck under the siding. For this reason, I strongly suggest anyone buying these sloped covers measure accordingly so the outside depth of the cover is deep enough to allow the you to trim the siding back and install the metal edge of the cover so it sits against the sheeting under the siding, rather than the way mine turned out. This will not only make the installation look better, but it will prevent water from penetrating between the cover and the siding. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the angled design of the metal strip until I had the covers in-hand so I was unable to install mine as suggested above. This is because the depth measurement I used for my cover order was too shallow to install them this way.The other way to address gap is to run a bead of caulk along the top of the strip, but if you do this, you won't be able to remove the cover without problems. I gave the covers a 4-star rating because of the angled metal strip. The design could have been better to prevent this.Overall I really like the covers. They are very sturdy and because they're clear, I still get plenty of light into the basement through the wells. The covers can be popped off and removed in mere seconds to clean them or access the inside of the well so that's another bonus. I also like that I was able to drill the holes for the clips myself so I got them perfect for my installation.MEASUREMENT SUGGESTIONI strongly recommend you buy your cover(s) slightly larger than needed so the edge of the cover completely covers the outer edge of the basement well and leaves a very slight overhang. This will prevent water from getting into the well. Measuring correctly to minimize the overhang will help with the final look and give you the best water tight performance possible. I'm super picky, and even with my major OCD, the average 1/2" overhang on my covers didn't bother me at all. On a couple of them, the outer overhang is an about an inch because the wells weren't rounded the same as the covers. This isn't the fault of the cover. In these cases, I just learned to live with them knowing I had bigger issues to worry about.Best of luck on your project. Great Job Window Well Supply Company! Thank you!

These window well covers were easy to install. The protective film on both sides was great to make sure they didn’t get scratched during the install process. Installed these 4 months ago and they do a fantastic job keeping rain and leaves out and letting light in. Easy to wipe or hose off when they get dusty.

Love the product but it did not fit even after I measured exactly how the manufactured instructed. If anyone is going to purchase, measure the entire width of your well. Not just the side and the front as instructed by the manufacturer. Even though I measured correctly, the "cut" of the well cover comes up short and does not cover much of the half circle of my well. It does cover the sides and the front but not in between. My well is not a perfect half circle and that is unfortunately the problem. Be VERY careful when you measure.

These were easy to install. Took me 30-45min to install 3. This side of the new addition gets the wind blown snow so these will keep the snow from building up in the well. The gap will allow a small amount through but can’t be helped and will also allow for air flow if we want the window open. Hoping they last many years. Excellent quality and worth the price to pay for quality.

These are awesome covers. They are really well build and quite heavy duty. They are even better than described as they have a slope to them (high in the middle and lower on the sides) thereby repelling rain and snow. They are very easy to install and easy to remove for whatever reason you may have. They cost a lot more than Big-Box, but they are well worth it.

Tired of those big box covers that break or blow away? This cover is high quality and easy to install. Place it over your window well, mark the location where the clips should be, drill two holes in the polycarbonate cover and install the clips. Snaps on after this. I bought one, needed two but wanted to see if the quality is worth the price. Ordered the second one right away and both have been installed for months and I expect them to work well and last for years.
