I use this indoors as a chicken playpen when there is a storm or I'm not home and don't want to leave my pet bantam chicken in the backyard chicken run unattended. I use dog potty pads to line the bottom and it's large enough that she has plenty of room to roam around and not feel confined. It pops open and folds up flat within 10 seconds. I would not trust her in this outside unattended though as I feel there might be room for her to escape in the center or it might blow away with the wind. Since I bought it strictly for indoors, that is not an issue with me and she has not escaped indoors.

My 15 y.o. indoor cat likes to go outside to eat some grass and check out the birds/squirrels. Even though my yard is fenced in, I take him on a leash because he's not very "streetwise" and it's annoying. I bought this to free myself from standing around in the sun for long periods. I read many reviews and noted the concerns, but took a chance - it paid off. Yes, it not the most secure/sturdiest, but my cat merely likes to lie inside and observe the surroundings. I specifically bought this because it doesn't have a "floor" and he can lie in the grass. If he was smarter, he could easily find a way to escape under the sides - but he's not. He loves it. I can sit and enjoy the outside time. I would not leave him unattended. I haven't found any issue with the stake ties. I am careful to set it up (2mins) on the flatest spot and check that the bottom edges don't have any visible gaps. The only problem I found was refolding after use, there's no way in goes back into the carrying case, but it folds up easily & I just store it flat.

A great product if you understand it's limitations. The limitations also work as a plus because it is extremely light weight and portable. We use it for large chicks to give them room outside of their brooder. With it's nice size and portability along with it's quick set up it fills this role nicely. We have folded and unfolded it many times and have not had any problems with wear. The limitation is that it is very light weight and may only work up to a point. If you have an animal that is going to charge, claw or try to attack the sides and really try to escape or something you needs unsupervised protection for long periods from predators this may not fit the bill. The netting is light weight and the wire frame will flex. That being said we can leave the chicks out to scratch and take a dust bath for an afternoon at a time. It does this job close to perfect and it stows so we can store it easily when it is not needed. Hope this helps.

The stitching on the tie down loops is laughable. It’s a single seam, very loosely stitched. One ripped on only the second use and we ended up having to round up escaped chicks and a rabbit. The mesh and fabric also snag easily. It does pop up and fold away easily and takes up very little storage space. It’s nice having zipper windows on the top and side. We will continue to use it for our rabbit, but I will sew on webbing to stake it down with rather than using the loops that came on it.

I got this to put my chickens in areas of my yard that need weeding. So far I've barely tried it out, but it will work fine. The stakes are sturdy. I bought 2 thinking it will rip after a while, and I'm sure it will-it's not built to last forever. But that's fine. Watch how it's folded when you open it or you won't get it back in it's case!PS, anybody want a rooster? ;)

Do not bother buying this. Pay $10 more for the "Amazon Choice". The loops that the securing stakes go through pull right off. I never got to use this, because I never got it staked down. The loops literally pull right off. Not one, 3 in a row and I gave up and stopped there. Clearly very poor quality. Maybe they were only glued on, with no actual stitching 🤷🏻♀️ I'm just guessing on that part. It was bizarre how they just pulled right off before I could even stake them down. So I can not provide any feedback beyond attempted setup, because I was never able to use it. The one we purchased to replace it is perfect. Same design and does not just pull apart. We've used it twice now.
